Thank heavens someone finally has enough sense to wear pantyhose. One more reason to love the Kate Middletonshe is bringing back the forgotten necessity of stockings with a dress. The undying, irritating trend of women wearing no stockings under beautiful dresses is a travesty to fashion. Stockings enhance the beauty of a woman's legs and add a lovely, shimmery finishing touch to a carefully chosen dress. They conceal bad fake tans, ashy dry skin and nicks from shaving. Kate Middleton has been touring Canada on her trip around North America with her husband, Prince William, and is wearing one gorgeous designer dress after another. And the finishing touch that people are noticing are her shimmering legs, complete with sheer stockings. This has already caught on in the UK, and sales of pantyhose has gone up.
Apparently, pantyhose are part of an unwritten dress code in Buckingham Palace, but some people are sure the lovely, refined Kate Middleton would wear them even if no requirement existed. This is unlike some other people who have visited the Palace and actually complained about having to wear stockings, such as Tom Hank's wife, Rita Wilson. First Lady Michelle Obama said she doesn't wear them because it was painful and they'd always rip. Perhaps Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, should give Mrs. Obama a lesson on how to properly dress in stockings. Pantyhose is not supposed to hurt. If they are painful, then the woman should go up a size and stop trying to squeeze into things that are too small for her.
