I recently heard a snippet from an LA Times op-ed by Obamapologist Meghan Daum titled, “Obama’s Fast Brain vs. Slow Mouth” in which Daum offered an explanation/defense/excuse for our president’s inclination to employ a multiplicity of “umms” and “uhs” when he speaks without, and sometimes with, his trusty teleprompters. As the article title suggests, Obama is so brilliant that his sluggish mouth is simply incapable of keeping up with his stupendous brain–not a nice thing to say about anyone, least of all a president– and he is reduced to “an intellectual stammer.” She didn’t attribute the president’s oratorical ineptness to stuttering but to “stammering,” which is pretty much the same speech defect as exhibited by the future King George VI in “The King’s Speech.” I don’t know Ms. Daum and I wouldn’t suggest she is so enthralled with Barack Hussein Obama that she would be thrilled to give him oral sex as Time writer Nina Burleigh generously offered her idol, Bubba Clinton, in 1998. She just, evidently, idolizes her hero and settled for apologizing for Obama’s speech patterns. Notably, she omits comment on his equally-annoying, constant filler ”y’know” and “ya know.” The chief problem with Daum’s apologia is that our gifted, constitutional-scholar leader’s speech issues aren’t confined to his repetitive “umms,” “uhs,” “y’knows,” or to some fabricated “intellectual stammer.” The absurdity of her premise is only emphasized by her comparison of the president to ”the godfather of the intellectual stammer,” the late, great, and incontestably brilliant, William F. Buckley. (http://lat.ms/kixmCW) Absent his handlers and their scripted, teleprompted, words of wisdom, Obama hasn’t the foggiest notion of what to say so “umms,” “uhs,” and “y’knows” afford him time to ruminate a wee bit, to intellectually stammer and fill the brain gap before he is forced to expound. He frequently does that by committing outrageous gaffes which are even more grievous than stammering. Barack Hussein Obama’s gaffes, his often stupid, inane, inappropriate, and inarticulate statements and misstatements are legion, even if Letterman’s writers can’t bring themselves to mock them as he still does with G.W. Bush’s “Bushisms.” They and Leno’s lackeys, two and a half years after President Bush left office, are still stuck on GWB’s gaffes and oblivious to every time Obama sticks his presidential foot into his mouth. Unlike GWB’s records–which showed he outshone Al Gore at Yale–we never have gotten the chance to peruse BHO’s college and law school transcripts so one has to wonder how smart this most brilliant president ever to occupy the White House really is. Obama’s 2008 campaign stops in 57 states, his confessed inability to speak “Austrian,” his reference to Navy “corpseman” are but a few of his gaffes, some of which, like his job-creation fantasies, are better described as bald-faced prevarications rather than mistakes. Michael Ledeen in PajamasMedia.com points to Obama’s most recent screw-up, referring to a dead Afghanistan soldier by name as the only Medal of Honor recipient to return alive from that war. Obama, of course, apologized to the family of Sgt. 1st Class Jared Monti and apologies by liberals are always accepted, unless they are too late in coming. Anthony Weiner can confirm that. Ledeen also presents a powerful argument for a theory that would outrage Meghan Daum and millions of other Obamians who still believe Obama not only can walk on water but that he may very well have invented that liquid compound of hydrogen and oxygen. Ledeen thinks Obama and his most trusted intimates are ignorant, not stupid, just ignorant. He believes Obama’s gaffes, for which he never shows any embarrassment, reflect a “lousy education, from lack of basic knowledge about the world,” a shortcoming shared by his advisers. In support of his proposition, Ledeen cites the relative paucity of leaks seeping out of this administration, evidence of how tightly the administration controls public information, and the concomitant restricted number of people in his inner circle who would review, vet, and approve Obama’s speeches. None seem to notice, or care about, such major gaffes as whom was personally awarded a Medal of Honor and who wasn’t. Ledeen writes, “And if I’m right about the small number of administration officials who get to see his words before they’re delivered in public, it tells us that they, too, aren’t properly educated. It tells us that the president and his trusted advisers are the products of the atrocious, politically correct educational system that’s wrecking the country in so many ways. . . they feel free to simply invent ‘facts’ so long as they fit the emotional and ideological pattern that really matters to the elite.” (http://bit.ly/lLsME2) Michael Ledeen is worried, as we all should be concerning the state of the nation and the mis-educated ideologues running it. Meghan Daum’s ridiculous “intellectual stammers” and Obama’s ignorant gaffes aside, we’re in umm, uhh, deep excrement, y’know?

That's a fair assessment. The same could be said about his supporters and people who voted for him. In this, I think Ledeen gives them too much credit. They're ignorant and stupid. The same could be said about his supporters and the people that voted for him.
Socialists & Democrats want you to do one thing:Obama’s gaffes, for which he never shows any embarrassment, reflect a “lousy education, from lack of basic knowledge about the world,” a shortcoming shared by his advisers.
Ledeen thinks Obama and his most trusted intimates are ignorant, not stupid, just ignorant.
