I was in process of posting to Fred Mertz on a thread here@LF about the styles of the various managers that was deleted by the LF forum manager. Here are MY ratings for "hit/post ratios WRT articles submitted": LP (declining), LF (ascending), 4UM(flat) and TPF (flat) but in that order. Goldi has let her channel go to shit based on her continuous babbling about Israel. Stone is silly and offensive as with Ferret and war, to posters and has a lot to learn to keep his fucking hands off the channel material unless it is obviously out of perspective with the scope of LF. Christine runs the best channel of the lot and is perhaps the best manager I have ever seen. Robin is the best technically. I NEVER even knew about her site until Stone talked about nolu chan over there. He is the absolute best poster on the Internet beyond ANY that I have seen. So, we have different management styles on these channels and the same is true for many others as well. All good managers from the perspective they each want to place the BEST possible within their limited budgets both time and money. But Stone, sometimes has this EVIL streak running down his kick 'em out button. It shall be his own death knell.LP is on decline while LF is on the ascension at the moment even though LF has fewer stalwart posters. I made this point to nolu chan @TPF irrespective of Alexia website ratings that TPF has claimed.

I told you once before that you are your own worst enemy. There are literally millions of chit-chat forums on the Internet. I know you want to succeed with your ideas but sometimes you just can't get your trigger finger off the "kick 'em button." You have to alter your methods of management style. You are dealing with posters that have been on the Internet for years transcending through time based on technological changes and you treat them as though they are your enemies. They want to express a perspective is all and sometimes that same perspective may not be eloquent or desirable. But they aren't spammers or hackers or idiots.
Well started thread Buck. You are correct. I don't need a Mommy or Daddy in forum. Stone does not have posted rules such as when he posts epithets and childish content I don't wish to see that the kill file function that allows him top be bozoed, I can't do it. He can always Pmail me at 4UM where I will take him on in forum. Tactics like coding the kill file to open when I sign on as is the case now on my account to put it in my nose is the work of an incredibly childish mind. I never leave anyone on bozo; but I'll decide when I take Stone off that list. He wears two hats in here; one as moderator. And he can always either use his screen to sanction, or Pmail me at 4UM. His other hat which is that of a rank and file commenter on politics and stories I don't have to listen to if I don't want to. And I won't right now for the time being. If that is not good enough, ban me. I post lots of other places on the Internet and I don't mind it if Stone does that. Just don't play games. It doesn't work. I'm not impressed. I was going to completely stay way for a while, but I saw this thread and it speaks to then problem with this forum. It actually runs better when Stone is away and he doesn't know what he's doing in very many ways. And he doesn't want to learn or work at Doug this forum better. That's more to the point then I like to put it, but he asked for a blunt assessment with this tempt to bully and head trip me.
I enjoy seeing different opinions; I have known you and war and fred (and thousands of posters on BBS, Usenet, IRC and web) for some ten+ years. Do any of us agree with each other often? HELL NO. I am the radical guy that gets pissed and often beaten, berated and given lip service particularly because of my non-GOP or DEM perspective. I can only suppose Stone doesn't see any of the recent "hit counts' on LF as a function of some outstanding posters MAKING/CREATING contributions towards that are honest without regard to political slant or orientation. I don't care about the juggling of GOP/DEM as most people know. I want the RAWMEAT of a singular personal opinion to consider. That is all. I may comment as i have time. All of us MUST modify methods of communication that can otherwise create turbulence for our respective opinions. GOD, we already have politicians and government stripping us of rights and dignities everyday without finding further crap. Stone has placed his website with time/money and an energetic approach to his ideals and concepts. He will NEVER achieve those objectives; it is the way of the world beyond his control. Perhaps Stone requires some of our brief resumes based on electronic capability. I go back to BBS, USENET, IRC and for years web. The web is much more graphical and easy to trace, particularly because of Neil; it is the best dialog software on the planet. I have considered starting another chit-chat forum but am reserved to go forward; I would really like all the respective forums to come together into a unified or integral forum that shows cohesive characteristics as opposed to further division. But, what we don't need is another fucking tyrant. Government has already seen to that!

Having said that, I enjoy posting to this chit-chat channel, that is until Stone gets his ass handed to him on a platter and he performs his childish tyrant moves of 5 minute suspensions and limiting poster privileges, like he did with you and war yesterday. Shoot Christine an email. She may have reconsidered her stance concerning your opinions or reasons for the blackball . I am (perhaps) the most colorful poster upon the Internet from the viewpoint of being "black&blue" by every manager under the Sun. It is all fun to me, however. Years ago, I learned to live with the fact that sometimes (for what-ever reasons) it is possible to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. I was Christine's first ban after she started 4um; which is often the case for me no matter where I go. I have a "way" of getting under the skin of others as I choose to make commentary; I attempt to evoke personal opinion, not some canned crap from a syllabus located somewhere beyond the personal perspective.

Stone's methods for his channel management style are often imbecilic, for sure. Still, I have noted more posters popping in to LF and perhaps Stone is defensive of the forum. His reasons are his alone. Diversity of opinion is the key to success whether anyone agrees with this point of view or not. If these chit-chat channel managers skew the forum impetus into their own way of thinking what shall happen is the inevitable: a hollow, echo chamber that is meaningless of and about personal opinion while some members chit-chat with a cup of tea or coffee because they have otherwise useless lives to begin with. Strength *IS* diversity of opinion. It is not some singular model of thought or thinking guided by anyone or group. How else can we modify ourselves or the world around us but by attempting to learn new ideas?

I can't really comment because I don't know any of the details. You are an awesome poster, mininggold. JT has changed his ways over the years and has become a more hard-liner with his opinions that probably influence 4UM management. Often, JT is refreshing in his views; the guy was a serious cop on a professional basis. If you take his professional background in combination with his personal opinions you see a completely different picture about his commentary concerning the world. JT posts on LF. Perhaps he can comment.
If you haven't been banned you don't make *ANY* impact on opinion. Being banned is the last issue to consider when stating a responsible post.

No. Quite the opposite- I view myself as a guy who somehow grasps things that others (for whatever reason) do not. I look at economics, the same way I look at electrical and mechanical engineering puzzles, and just seem to know the solution... It's as easy to me as when you look at the lawn in front of your house, and say, "oh, the grass is green." In the same way that such a fact would be self-evident to you, it seems to be that way with me, when it comes to engineering and economics. I don't think of myself as an intellectual, because that would imply that I really need to think about this stuff, to understand the ramifications. Am I working on my doctorate? Yeah. But the reason I'm doing it, is not to become an "intellectual." It's to have the strongest educational safety-net, to assure my family has adequate income for the forseeable future. It's an insurance policy, that's all... Why should I? I wrote it, so what purpose is to be served by reviewing it again? I really don't care about your opinion. Fine. My goals are two-fold: 1. Post information so that people can understand what's coming, and If that bruises your sensibilities, I really don't care. If you have full (or as close to full) information on which to make decisions which could very well affect your livelihood, or the survival of your family in the economic hurricane that we're in the middle of, then I'm good with that. But truly, I don't care if you like me or not... As I told lucysmom the other day, my motives are very simple: get the information out. You have made the BIG_TYME! The goal of posting (for me) is to make a meaningful remarck based on an article or comment. The badge of courage is to state an informed opinion that has impact not hunkering down to a group of elastic rules that are often modified based on bias and ignorance. But, largely I read anymore. There is a lot to learn about a continuous poster by observing what they don't say.

Actually, I felt I have to return to do one post. I have no desire to be here if I can't bozo Stone's hateful verbiage. I checked with Neil McIver and my Windows 7 machine and software opened the page on my bozo list. When you open a new browser in Win 7 and click on an additional tab, you get choices based on frequency of use of the site. I am not experienced with Win 7 and it seemed like the result I was getting came to the computer and showed Stone with access to my bozo list he should not have unless he had phished or figured out my password. I cannot make such an accusation and not apologize if reasonable doubt is established by the writer of the forum software. IF I don't believe in what I post and it could harm the reputation of another, I will take responsibility for that. I'm not returning, I am really tired of this place because of Stone's lack of rules on posting that remove unfair advantage for the poster's poing of view, and I am tired of the childish squabbling and bull shit Stone allows that does nothing constructive toward the end of running a forum. I also do not agree with his one self serving rule about the kill file function that would force me to see his hatefulness and immature garbage. He can leave this account open or close it if he wishes after this post. Because for nw I am on hiatus from here. And I can feel better about leaving knowing he actually has not been proved to be into personal accounts and that I was able to satisfy my own standards of behavior by correcting the record when it seems I was wrong. Good luck and I'll be online and in forums, just not here for the time being. My mistake has a component of a lack of trust that still remains, and I have to respect that.
