Did anyone see the opening to the U.S. Open Golf Tournament?

NBC TWICE had a group of school children reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and edited it so that the phrase "under God, indivisible" was omitted.

Can't wait to hear the NBC's new version of the National Anthem.

Right. Along with loyalty oaths. Had to root out those commies.

I'd leave indivisible in, though. I think it was there originally.

Why not?

The FED makes all the cash you can carry. And on the face of those bills are "In God We Trust" ..... the term is worthless in this society with the exception of when a President wants a new WAR somewhere. Oh, the President will call on "GOD" to help the nation, then.

I can see why NBC would want to omit that part though.

"Without those words, how are you going to tell the commies from the Christians? "

Easy. The commies all live in blue states or towns with more than 10,000 people.

Both very funny, but shouldn't we be grateful that it isn't one nation under allah, in any town with a teacher's union?

Good. It should never had been added.

I don't believe it was even a part of the National Anthem until sometime in the early 50's.

It should have never been added.

Good question. They are both religions, and they have a awful lot in common.

Let me help you out.

It is common practice for ALL news agencies to use their discretion of editing ANY presentation they feel like. In this singular case, they not only PROVED it but also ADMITTED the same to the publick.

I have known about these sorts of shenanigans since 1993 during the US MEDIA handling of the Branch Davidian Church in Waco, TX. Since then, I don't watch TV, read newspapers, magazines and so forth. Everything I find is on the Internet not by some BS "news organization."

They can report "a news event" any way they want.

Here's a hint. What if they printed the Constitution on their website, and decided to edit to fit their agenda????

You both talked about them editing the pledge. Buck talks about it being public knowledge now. If it is public knowlege as buck says. Then people can see that it was edited to fit an agenda as you mention.

That is why I said what you said and buckeroo said is pretty much the same thing.

There is a major GLITCH in your post.

The US CIA has invaded both US and FOREIGN press with agents. This was proved some 30 years ago. And the larger the press organization (such as ABC, CBS, NBC (et. al.) the more CIA agents contribute towards news articles.

I am confident you know that minor fact that is not newsworthy.

The original "Pledge of Allegiance" until the 1950s did not have the "Under God" reference and - this is the good part - the Pledge was created by a Socialist minister - I mean full Socialist - commie pinko. Heck, before WW2 and Hitler made the salute unpopular - American's said the Pledge in the "Roman" manner - out stretched hand directed at the flag aka the Nazi salute (the old Roman Republic salute).

the Pledge was created by a Socialist minister

It's amusing to watch conservative patriots get all possessive about the pledge written by a socialist.

It is our responsibility to protect that child once that child’s born too. When we start debating a budget, let’s make sure we don’t cut 100,000 vaccines. Let’s make sure we’ve got health insurance. We seem to worship what we cannot see, but as soon as that baby’s born, oh no, we don’t want to be intrusive. Texas is going to shrink government until it fits inside a women’s uterus. If most had been around after the revolution I'm sure they would have found the constitution that was drawn up to be much too restrictive of their 'right' to be anarchists.

That's a stupid comparison. When did kids in this country ever give the Nazi salute?

All that happened was that the pledge was recited the way it was written, not the way it was changed by the cold warriors.

From Godwinson:"Heck, before WW2 and Hitler made the salute unpopular - American's said the Pledge in the "Roman" manner - out stretched hand directed at the flag aka the Nazi salute (the old Roman Republic salute)."

That's the same time period. So, if you want to go back to "the way it was", you'd have no problem going back to "Roman style"?
