Rick Perry

IMHO

Perry is a big-government style republican - a big spender who raised taxes.

He's a self described "social conservative" which puts him out of touch with most Americans......

I met him when he was running for governor. Personal opinion is he is all hat, no cattle and just too insincere to have any staying power. His 'charm' is too smarmy even for a Texan.

Rick Perry's First 100 Days

If he gets into the race, Gov. Perry will be offering the Texas model of economic growth to a nationwide audience..

By JAMES FREEMAN

Texas Gov. Rick Perry promises a decision soon on whether to run for president. Dropping a possible hint in a visit to the Journal this week, Mr. Perry reported that his wife is urging him to get into the race for the GOP nomination. Conservatives may agree with Mrs. Perry when they examine the guv's agenda.

At our meeting he suggested shuttering the federal departments of energy and education and criticized Rep. Paul Ryan's budget plan on the grounds that it doesn't cut deficits quickly enough. Still, Mr. Perry added that "it's a very good step in the right direction" and called Mr. Ryan "one of the Young Turks that I admire."

If he gets into the race, Mr. Perry will be offering the Texas model of economic growth to a nationwide audience. The Lone Star State still has no income tax, and Mr. Perry and his famous predecessor have enacted a series of measures to combat junk lawsuits that have made Texas a magnet for doctors and businesses. No coincidence, Texas is the undisputed national champ when it comes to job creation, with 254,000 jobs created in the last year and more than a third of the country's new jobs since the end of the recession in 2009.

When asked to forecast the first 100 days of a new presidential administration if American voters were to choose the Texas model, Mr. Perry sketched out a pretty picture for GOP primary voters. Mr. Perry said that assuming a GOP victory over President Obama and a Republican takeover of the Senate, the first item of business would be a repeal of ObamaCare "in totality, and a great sigh of relief would be heard across this country." Next up would be spending cuts, and eliminating the two cabinet departments could be just the beginning. "Those are minor amounts of money but they are very symbolic," he added.

Next on Mr. Perry's list is a reform of corporate income taxes in order to give U.S. firms an incentive to repatriate more than $1 trillion held in offshore subsidiaries. "Give people an incentive to start investing in America again," he said, adding that corporate taxes in general need to be restructured to encourage job creation. "There's a lot of money out there, but people are afraid to invest it . . . because they don't know what Washington's going to do."

Conservatives in Iowa and New Hampshire are no doubt wondering what Rick Perry is going to do.

the State he runs has the highest percentage of uninsured citizens, and recently ran up the second biggest budget deficit as a percentage of the overall budget of any state.

He's been attacked over his immigration stances (he signed a proclamation to promote importation of Mexican farm workers and spoke out against the Arizona law), and there have long been rumors of a boyfriend. Oh, and he's recently whined that the Federal government won't give his state emergency aid after he recently suggested Texas could secede.

He had a great speech yesterday at the Republican Leadership Conference.

The knock on Perry for the first few years he was governor is that he was more of a politician than someone interested in governing. But over the last couple of years, that has changed pretty dramatically.

Texas balanced it's budget by cutting spending. They don't have a state income tax. They have effectively handcuffed the trial lawyers with loser pays legislation. They have created about 40% of the new jobs in American over the last couple of years. Texas became the country's #1 exporter under Perry. Companies are flocking to Texas -- they are home to more Fortune 1000 companies than any other state.

There is a record of success in Texas that's hard to argue with.

If you look at the polls, Pawelnty, Cain, and Bachman together have more support than Romney. I don't think that anyone of them is capable of consolidating the conservative vote against Romney.

If Perry gets into the race, he could win the Iowa caucus, win in South Carolina, and become the conservative alternative to Romney.

If conservatives don't coalesce around one candidate, RINO Romney will be the nominee.

Texas balanced it's budget by cutting spending.

There must be a conservative rule for this:

Texas lawmakers in 2009 were short $6.6 billion in revenue for 2010-11 and relied heavily on stimulus funds for a solution.

We did our own budget research, finding that lawmakers agreed to spend $80.6 billion in state general revenue on basic expenses over the two-year period, according to a report by the Legislative Budget Board, which advises lawmakers on budgetary matters.

However, the stimulus aid let legislators put an additional $6.4 billion toward programs, primarily Medicaid and education, historically financed with general revenue, according to a July 2009 House Research Organization report. Another $5.7 billion in stimulus money went to programs such as highway and bridge construction, child care development programs and weatherization assistance.

Counting all funding sources, including the $12.1 billion in stimulus aid, the 2010-11 state budget totaled $182 billion.

snip

Back to the stimulus: On Feb. 18, 2009, the same day Perry accepted the federal funds, the governor slammed the legislation as being "full of pork and special interest handouts." On his campaign website, Perry wrote: "The Democrats think this bill will change our country's financial fortunes, but you and I know better. … This administration is saddling future generations with an increasingly unbearable debt." He then urged readers to sign an online petition telling "Washington" that they are "fed up with bailouts."

It is our responsibility to protect that child once that child’s born too. When we start debating a budget, let’s make sure we don’t cut 100,000 vaccines. Let’s make sure we’ve got health insurance. Tell me what you know about Rick Perry

Obviously he'd be a better choice for President than the messiah "king" obammy, or ANY other demonRAT libTURD for that matter.

He's not my first pick but he'd do.

The libTURDS are going to have to try to slime all the repukelican'ts, because the demonRATS totally OWN the FAILURE which engulfs this nation right now.

When you are President, you don't get to vote "present".

THIS moron messiah "king" obammy has spent MORE borrowed money in his first two years in office than ALL of the presidents spent in ALL of foregoing AMERICAN history including ALL previous American WARS.

THIS moron messiah "king" obammy has IGNORED ALL US LAW over and over and over ...

THIS moron messiah "king" obammy has un-constitutionally taken over the auto and health industries, while ignoring LAW and screwing the share holders of these industries, not to mention his attempt by the Chicago way to FORCE an individual mandate on each and every American.

So the feral gooberment would OWN our f ing bodies, politically outright.

Yeah, the filthy simpering libTURD tools/fools/whores, DO NOT want to talk about PROVEN AND DOCUMENTED RECORDS OF RESULTS.

These arrogant and insane libTURD whores, are TRYING to tell the people that what they pay every time that they fill up or get food, ISN'T going through the roof, FAST!

LOL!

That's exactly why the libTURDS froth at the mouth about guys like Perry.

They CAN'T compare records and win.

So they default to the excrement tossing monkeys that they really are.

Plus it's always worked for them before, because it appeals to a certain sub set of human behavior.

WE can win the fight against these libTURD bastids by out Alinsky-ing them.

To be blunt, we CONSTITUTIONAL conservatives, and all others who actually believe in the ideas of traditional America, must take their libTURD rhetorical "dogs" and "beat" them down al la Alinsky, WITH those same "dogs".

SHAME these bastids with what they support.

There is no other way.

Face to face.

Support ALL who fight the libTURD powers that be of course.

But, I suggest that we support, the most, whoever the establishment libTURDS have hated the most, the longest, that's declared running.

Of course, the most CONSTITUTIONALLY conservative folks would be best in general.

We didn't get here in one election cycle, and we aren't going to get out of it in one either.

Although I still like Herman Cain's story, if it's true.

BUT honestly ...

People get a grip, they are ALL politicians.

You don't get honey from a stone.

EVER.

.

Spoiled, stupid and ignorant, brain dead phuckwads, libTURD fools, tools, and idiots, are the real sickness; the messiah "king" obammy and his regime are only the symptoms.

Most Americans agree with the conservative social issues.

Maybe you're right......

Please help me to understand your perspecitve -

"Social Conservative" positions -

1.Anti-abortion.....still legal since 1973. If this were really a mainstream issue, R v. W would have been overturned decades ago.

2. Anti-gay rights.....yeah - all Americans are equal - but straight Americans are more equal....So if you're gay - you cannot enter into a variety of contracts.....including partnerships - Is this really important to MOST Americans? Be serious...

3. Anti-medical research - Like stem cells....c'mon seriously? MOST Americans want MORE medical research - No ONE wants to die of a curable disease!

4. Anti-immigration - a lot of Americans want a secure border, and a sensible approach to those here illegally. - Except politicians - Claiming to be a "social conservative" and "against illegal immigration" is pointless as Reagan showed us....

5. Welfare reform - what? like medicare???? right -

6.Lifting the ban on school prayer..... - ok, less than one percent of Americans even know that there is some sort of "ban" on public prayer in school - fewer than that care.

These are my perspectives - if you can refute them please do - I'd love to see some hard facts that suggest otherwise -

Until then - I will hold firm on my position that "the social conservative agenda" is not a position that will win a national election, because most Americans are far more interested in Jobs, keeping their home, paying their bills and taking care of their families.

There is no such thing as two dudes being married. Or two women being married. That is the position of a deginerate asshole.

Any man can marry any woman and any woman can marry any man. There is no discrimination against faggots in this country. The discrimination is against normal people who know right from wrong. If this is your position then you don't have a fucking clue and probably never will.

You acknowledge that there is a "ban" on school prayer. Well how can that be legitimate when the constitution very clearly says the government shall MAKE NO LAW...

No Law has a meaning. What grade did you complete in school? If you actually graduated high school it would be surprising considering these comments you are making.

ok, so you obviously fear or hate those whom you feel are "perverted" - but - if we can focus on my original premise - that as a political position - MOST Americans really don't care whether someone is gay or not - we could have a more productive discussion......

In one sentence, you demonstrate your narrow-minded ignorance and your failure to grasp 4th grade grammar...awesome!

Stem Cell research is something that the vast majority or Americans - and for that matter all humans - should be in favor of - to fight disease -

Personally I am 100% Pro-Life - but from a voter's perspective - opposing stem cell research is a losing position.

ok, so you obviously fear or hate those whom you feel are "perverted" - but - if we can focus on my original premise - that as a political position - MOST Americans really don't care whether someone is gay or not - we could have a more productive discussion......

I don't really care if someone is a queer or not.

But they shouldn't get special treatment like the weirdos want. They will never be married. That isn't the definition of marriage. They also need to stop trying to push their perverted thinking on schools and school children.

In short they need to get the fuck back in the closet and quit talking about their perverted lifestyle.

Pervert has a meaning by the way.

why to you stupidly assume otherwise?

Taking stem cells from aborted babies is a sick practice. It is immoral and should be illegal.

If the unlawfulness of abortion was enforced and god forbid a baby in the womb died. If those parents wanted to donate the remains for research. Then that would be alright in my view.

But now killing babies for parts. That is gross and evil.

People from other nations don't have an inherit right to come to this country.

That statement is utterly useless. It has no meaning.

So - you don't understand that medicare is welfare? Are you serious?

Tax dollars, taken from working Americans to pay for the health care expenses of those who do not work.......

kinda sounds like welfare - doesn't it?

and because we're not going to get off topic - MOST Americans do not want medicare changed....

so "welfare reform" is not a main stream issue.....is it?

Guess it depends on which type of welfare you are talking about.

But here is a bigger question. Is it right to force people to pay for someone elses healthcare regardless if it is popular or not.

We elect leaders to do the right thing not to stick their finger in the wind.

Heh heh heh - c'mon give the "drama queen" act a rest.

Prayer in school is NOT an issue that wins elections, and you know it.

Those of us who feel otherwise have taken the initiative to send our children to schools beyond the public system.

You get that right? Take responsibility? sure you do.

AFAIK there are damn few who are anti-immigrant. But you're not talking a about immigrants are you? You mean illegal aliens, invaders of our sovereign nation.

Most Americans are against being invaded and taken over by Mexico, or any other country. The vast majority of Americans want our laws enforced, including deporting illegal invaders. You have a problem with rule of law?

If any foreign national wants to come to the US and become a citizen, they need to get on the path to citizenship at their local US embassy.

Why do you lefties have such a calice disregard for life?

After half a dozen remarks - you still have failed to grasp a very elementary concept - the "social conservative agenda" is an extreme minority position and will never produce a true national leader (president) because the "independent" "moderate" majority - which provide the deciding votes in every election - have no use for them.

A fair position - I won't argue against it -

but here's the point - any candidate that runs a campaign based on "putting an end to illegal immigrants" will attract an insignificant number of votes from the rural areas of the poorest states....and not much more.....

not a winning position - Reagan granted amnesty to millions of illegals....and is still considered by the socially conservative minority to be a demi-god.....

Neither you or I know his guilt or innocense. But here is a different perspective than yours. Do you watch Maddow? http://rickvskay.blogspot.com/2009/10/cameron-todd-willingham-was-guilty-as.html Cameron Todd Willingham was guilty as sin... While Anderson Cooper and Rachel Maddow are proclaiming the innocence of this scumbag to hurt Rick politically, the local Corsicana paper has been doing yeoman's work on this story and is making those media activists look really stupid (link). Excerpt follows...

The undeniable facts of the Cameron Todd Willingham case are these:

• On Dec. 23, 1991, 2-year-old Amber Louise Kuykendall, and 1-year-old twins Karmon Diane Willingham and Kameron Marie Willingham died in a mid-morning house fire at 1213 W. 11th Ave. in Corsicana.

• Willingham, 23, the children’s father, and the only adult home at the time of the fire, was found guilty of murder and sentenced to death on Aug. 21, 1992.

• After five appeals and 12 years on death row, he was put to death by lethal injection on Feb. 17, 2004.

Everything else is controversial.

Unfortunately their megaphone is tiny, and Cooper and Maddow reach millions of people with their criminally biased reporting... the more I read about this case the more I am convinced this whole controversy is an attempt to end the death penalty, and the actual facts shouldn't get in the way...

The Dallas/Ft. Worth Fox station actually went to Corsicana and did some on the ground reporting... watching this, Willingham was one bad guy who got due process... even the new forensic investigatory tools don't point to innocence or that the fire was set accidentally, the new reports only point to inconclusive evidence on one small part of the case.

Willingham's last words were not "I am an innocent man." They were "I hope you rot in hell, bitch," directed toward his wife whom he had beaten many times even while she was pregnant to try to cause a miscarriage... this guy was guilty and had several appeals at the state and federal levels.

Here is the video (link)...

Story link: MyFoxDFW.com

You won't see anything like that on CNN or MSNBC. They have made up their minds, and it is not even about Willingham anymore it is about Rick and the death penalty more broadly.

Willingham's last words were not "I am an innocent man." They were "I hope you rot in hell, bitch," directed toward his wife whom he had beaten many times even while she was pregnant to try to cause a miscarriage...

Not quite, here's the official transcript of his last words:

Yeah. The only statement I want to make is that I am an innocent man -- convicted of a crime I did not commit. I have been persecuted for 12 years for something I did not do. From God's dust I came and to dust I will return -- so the earth shall become my throne. I gotta go, road dog. I love you Gabby. I hope you rot in hell, bitch; I hope you fucking rot in hell, bitch. You bitch; I hope you fucking rot, cunt. That is it.

Also:

"Willingham’s wife insisted during the trial and under interrogation that Willingham had not physically abused the children"

There was enough doubt that this guy shouldn't have been executed, and Perry has never offered a clear explanation as to why he replaced members of the commission investigating the case.

Again, if you believe in the sanctity of human life, you can't support Perry.

"Thats because your basically and idiot."

Trump won on a social conservative agenda dork.
