Not really. He correctly gauged the moral standards of his constituency (none at all) and had decided he was golden locally.
Then his wife Hummer came home and whispered in his ear that Bubbette! Clinton had told her that if he didn't resign immediately the next thing that would happen would be he would wake up one morning with a dead opossum on the pillow next to him.
And we all know historically what happens to people that don't heed that warning. Ask anybody from Arkansas.
Ironic those screeching 'why should he resign?!!!!' last week are now claiming he should have done so 'weeks ago'.

There is no shortage of these hacks in either branch of the ruling party. Look at all the excitement over the Palin emails for proof of this on the Dim side of the ledger.
Not to mention these same assholes that now claim to be so horrified over Weiner emailing photos of him without his shirt on would cut you with a knife to defend weasels like Bill Clinton,Ted Kennedy,or Barney (homo ho house) Frank. It's hard to get these weasels to take a stand on principle because they have none. All they do is fake it.
