Landmark Hitler letter on Jews unveiled in New York

The letter is hand-typed and signed by Hitler. A letter by Adolf Hitler - said to be the earliest expression of his ideas on anti-Semitism - has been shown publicly for the first time in New York.

The four-page typed letter, written in 1919, calls for the "uncompromising removal" of Jews from society.

It was acquired by the Simon Wiesenthal Centre in Los Angeles, where it is due to go on display.

The statement by the then 30-year-old soldier is regarded as a key historical document from the period.

Correspondents say it is seen as significant because it demonstrates how early the future Nazi leader was forming his views.

'Legislation'

The document suggests that Hitler already believed, more than two decades before the Holocaust, that Jews should be removed from society.

"To begin with, Judaism is definitely a racial and not a religious group," Hitler wrote in the statement, known as the Gemlich letter.

The letter marks Judaism as "a racial and not a religious group" "The result of which is that a non-German race lives among us with its own feelings, thoughts and aspirations, while having all the same rights as we do."

In one section of the letter, Hitler writes that a government could tackle the so-called "Jewish question" by denying their rights, but said the "final aim, however, must be the uncompromising removal of the Jews altogether".

Rabbi Marvin Hier of the Simon Wiesenthal Center said that the organisation bought the letter for $150,000 (£90,000) from a private dealer last month.

He said the letter - the existence of which has long been known to scholars - was a critical document from World War II because it "ties Hitler directly to the destruction of the Jews".

"In 1919, when he was a nobody he writes a letter... we need not emotional pogroms, we need legislation, we need a national government that would be ruthless enough, to do what? Total removal of the Jews from society," he told the BBC.

When it was written, Hitler was serving in the German army, and had had a tendency to stir up troops with his anti-Semitic rhetoric.

A superior officer asked him to put his ideas on paper, according to AP news agency.

The document was displayed at New York's Museum of Tolerance, but it will go on permanent show in Los Angeles from July.

FYI, in 1967, LBJ was POTUS.

I know, I was 11 at the time, and he was the beginning of what the Democrat Party has denigrated into, a bunch of criminals/idiots/losers.....

I bet if the truth be known he had a hand in JFKs demise.....

*242 passed the UNSC in November of 1967 and called for Israel to pull back to its UN formed borders.

The cornerstone of all postwar diplomacy was U.N. Security Council Resolution 242, passed in November 1967. It did not demand that Israel pull back completely to the pre-1967 lines. Its withdrawal clause only called on Israel to withdraw "from territories," not from all territories. Britain's foreign secretary at the time, George Brown, later underlined the distinction: "The proposal said 'Israel will withdraw from territories that were occupied,' and not from 'the' territories, which means that Israel will not withdraw from all the territories."

GHW Bush most certainly did. General Lemnitzer did as well. Or maybe you ***think*** it coincidence that when Boosh was running the CIA Lem, an architect of the Bay of Pigs fiasco and an ardent advocate of using the CIA to overthrow Castro, was appointed to investigate whether E Howard Hunt and Frank Sturgis - two of the CIA point men in Cuba - were in on the plot that assassinated JFK.

That said, the point is, the stupidity in this nation - most often displayed/typified by the "right" - has never been more starkly apparent when it comes to what the policy of the US has been for the last 44 years regarding Israel's borders.

With all due respect to Brown, the UN formed State of Israel itself believes that 242 requires it to pull back to the borders of 4 June 1967.

With all due respect to Brown, the UN formed State of Israel itself believes that 242 requires it to pull back to the borders of 4 June 1967

How were Israel's legal rights to new boundaries justified? A good explanation came from Judge Stephen Schwebel, who would later be an adviser to the State Department and then president of the International Court of Justice in The Hague. Writing in the American Journal of International Law in 1970, he noted that Israel's title to West Bank territory—in the event that it sought alterations in the pre-Six Day War lines—emanated from the fact that it had acted in lawful exercise of its right to self-defense. It was not the aggressor.

The flexibility for creating new borders was preserved for decades. Indeed, the 1993 Oslo Agreements, signed by Yitzhak Rabin and Yasser Arafat on the White House lawn, did not stipulate that the final borders between Israel and the Palestinians would be the 1967 lines. Borders were to be a subject for future negotiations. An April 2004 U.S. letter to Israel, backed by a bipartisan consensus in both houses of Congress, stipulated that Israel was not expected to fully withdraw, but rather was entitled to "defensible borders." U.S. secretaries of state from Henry Kissinger to Warren Christopher reiterated the same point in past letters of assurance.

AIM OF THE NEGOTIATIONS

The aim of the Israeli-Palestinian negotiations within the current Middle East peace process is, among other things, to establish a Palestinian Interim Self-Government Authority, the elected Council (the "Council"), for the Palestinian people in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, for a transitional period not exceeding five years, leading to a permanent settlement based on Security Council Resolutions 242 and 338.

Maybe they should have told the Palestinians that, they don't seem to know....

Then again if they quit firing rockets into Israel and executing innocent people, maybe somebody would listen to their demands for peace.... But I don't think that's going to happen..... So it looks like the Palestinians can just go piss up a rope.....

The US has NEVER recognized Israel as having a claim to any border beyond what it was granted by the UN when it was formed by that body.

The problem with your statement is that Israel is a sovereign nation based on UN sanctions. Palestine is not; Palestine or the region considered Palestine is free for the taking and the Zionists do so.

Hagee (and American ilk) are a wonderful instrument of God, aren't they? NOT! They encourage all this ME tension through their generous "love gifts" while militant Muslims (Taliban, al-Qaeda, SUICIDE BOMBERS, etc.) continue a literal "war" campaign against US imperialist aggression siding with Israel.

Of course, the treatment of Palestinians contained behind barbed wire, cement walls and other barriers exacerbates the issues. They are treated like dogs, unworthy of anything including self-respect. Since the establishment of Israel, do you know how many UN refugee camps have been established around Israel expressly for displaced Palestinians? I wager you and not many know.

And the US pays some 30% of UN budgets; the USA really is in a pickle playing games with the entire issue.

This foreign entanglement has doomed America. This is the aftermath of WW2 that Americans face in the ME.

You're not a propagandist, that concept is actual history.... Even though Hitler was not the originator of the idea, somebody else was about 50-60 years before....

SO you're saying that because they didn't defeat England (and her Navy) that's why they didn't move the Jews there... Even though at the same time they were building the Warsaw Ghetto....

Not true at all. Hitler was in a down-swing about the Third Reich in 1941. It wasn't an upswing after that time. Hitler lacked the resources for the migration attempt.

Have you eve followed "the Skunk?" He was a prolific poster during the life-span of LF (Liberty Forum) when John Deere was still alive; it was probably the biggest world-wide chit-chat channel in the world. I think it was turned "dark" in 2008. Still, Skunk created more original posts about this matter than any web-site in the world. He did a good job attempting to deny the holocaust as a rumour, which I think is ludicrous still, he combined some serious fact about the salient details of the holocaust that anyone could not argue as his details were backed by detailed research and links.

It was Churchill that prevented Hitler from establishing the Jews on Madagascar. It actually lead to the continuous barrage of assault on GB by Hitler; ultimately, it all lead to the defensive position of Hitler and the later prison camps.

Even if they had moved the Jews there do you think they would have let them live???

Sure. There was a concept espoused by many 19th century philosophers concerning the faire skinned, blond, blue eyed superior race: the Nordic Aryans. Jews were considered as "DOGS" or mongrels at the time, somewhat similar to how Zionists regard Palestinians today. Hitler wanted to remove their influence from Germany.

I think it would have just been the Madagascar Ghetto... Outta sight, outta mind...... nobody is keeping tabs on them cause they're too busy fighting a war to notice or care.....

At the time, that is what happened. The collapse of the Third Reich. All good news, by the way.

So did America learn any lessons? Nope.

Not true. Hitler was far from a "compassionate conservative" or a "liberal gas bag." He just wanted the Jews out of Germany. He errored in his tactical side of the methods and later lead to the holocaust.

He was wrong, of course...as it should be...

Hitler was fighting for Germany's survival and creating a classical "scapegoat" such as the Jew issue was fairely easy to accomplish because of the times. The German People seemed to enjoy Hitler's lead, too. That is the cornerstone of a failed democracy wherein the majority detroy their own society. .

Say what you want about the issues that Israel causes for us because a) we bring them on ourselves and b) we seem to be oblivious to those consequences but Judaism to me is no different than being Italian, Irish or WASP.

To me, the GREATEST PROBLEM facing America is the illegal alien issue. This includes those that conspired on 9/11 and earlier programs besides Zionists in high command of America's government. Of course, those sneaky wetbacks taking the time to stride into America without documentation need some robust government policy as well.

Still, and I argue that Hitler did not want the blood of Jews on his hands. All he wanted is their removal from Germany and Churchill interceded.

I want to point out one more issue about America's history since WW2, defeating the Third Reich. Prior to WW2 there was no serious government directed social equality in America. All of this later claptrap came after Hitler's own eugenics program and creating WW2.

The concept of "social equality" since WW2 has actually served America poorly as the nation has exacerbated or magnified the ideas of "eugenics" in an attempt to bring justice both domestically and internationally.

We now have folks receiving POINTS in college education because they are poor, or latino, or black, or Indian or Chinese irrespective towards academic merit. These same government programs have lead to America's downfall as the nation recalls Hitler's program of genocide.

Since WW2, America has attempted to remove its own asocial behaviour about gays, blacks, jews, women, chinese, illegal aliens and so forth in an attempt to PROVE that America is the land of the free.

It is ashame, too. We have now elevated through historic ramifications concerning eugenics a method to reduce our own society into antiquity by elevating every Tom, Dick & Harry into a rewards program for social benefit to PROVE America is just and equal.

Today, I find America the most worst nation on the planet. Proof is through the programs sponsored based on 9/11 wherein we have Chernoff dictating methods of shaking down little old ladies in airports while letting obvious Muslims pass through while never checked or IDed.

I have no idea what you are talking about. There was no formalized "TSA" before 9/11; it all came later, particularly with the US Patriot Act and reformation of ALL the US bureaucracies under a new czar for Homeland Security.

And, yet the US government caused 9/11 from the perspective of not checking ID and documentation as well as verifying foreign national paperwork. Here is how, they allowed illegals from around the world into America without proper ID. The 19 terrorists committing the atrocities of 9/11 were ALLOWED into the USA based on US policy even though they were illegal aliens. Some were even PROVIDED US Government funding to learn to fly a plane; what a GREAT nation we live in, 'eh?

I know this stuff very well. It is not mainstream. It is not CT. It is the absolute TRUTH, as America wages war around the globe and inviting innocent terrorists into our own domain further creating the havoc we pay for on a day by day basis.

Prior to 9/11 every airport had their own methods; every airline had their methods, too. BIG DEAL.

Everyone was asleep at the wheel. From Clinton/Bush down to the guys/gals wearing a uniform.

But, the REAL problem was about the US State Department's proactive methods of inviting illegals into the country. BTW, this is still an ongoing issue although, there are additional checks today.

No problem at all, either. Illegals, irrespective of intent are given immunity. They are considered "innocent" in America while the mean 'ol taxpayer is attempting to employ Hitler's eugenics program.

My GOD man, can't this madness stop? The mayhem is all about the US government NOT GUARDING our own US borders while democratizing the world around us. America is in trouble because of the pendulum that Hitler created based on eugenics. Socially, this government considers everyone equal under the law.

Yet, the law isn't followed at all. It isn't followed because of this antiquated experiment in America to make EVERYONE the SAME, with the same rights even if they are illegal aliens.

Briefly, I want to talk about that. Are you aware that the FBI rounded up more than 1000 supporting members of Atta's fine friends and compadres?

In the news, you hear about "Atta" and all the other MSM bad guys. But the fact of the matter is they had a well entrenched team of illegals (not all from the ME, BTW) supporting the efforts.

Why can't America guard its own borders? Why can't we seek relief from the US government about this very issue? Rhetorically, there is a method installed to make us all "equal" irrespective of life, liberty or rights in America as a US Citizen.

That method is because of the US Government.

I want to answer your question with a riddle. This won't take long, either.

America was the greatest nation this planet has ever seen. Today, we see America in serious decline with no apparent hope of redirection on the horizon. So the question is, "how did we get here?" What are the dynamics that manifested our own downfall as it wasn't some direct military foreign invasion. America's broadest range of world-wide influence throughout it's 235 history was the immediate aftermath of WW2. So, in 60 years we have seen a tremendous change; the changes were allowed because of the ignorant American people living off their HEYDAY following WW2.

With the above backdrop in mind, have you read or seen "The Time Machine" by H.G Wells?

Briefly, the story was about a nineteenth century time traveler that went to the remote future and wound up with two isolated clans, the Morlocks and the Eloi. The time traveler effectively destroys the Morlocks and returns to the nineteenth century to pick up some books and return to rebuild the Eloi.

Of course there are other important details I have intentionally omitted but with both of the above in mind, it is time for the long awaited riddle: What limited set of books would YOU take?

It's been a long, long time since I've seen the movie and don't really remember much about it....

History books, for those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it.....

Yes sir. You understand the issues on a deep level well. And it isn't about some tug-'o-war concerning politics.

And that is why I study history. I may not be able to handle the world at large but I may be able to handle my own understanding and impart a few fragments of and about some details to family friends and business. I may not know much but as a student I am willing to learn.

Best regards!

That's good, keep it up..... Learning is the key to being wise....

There are too many people out there that think they know it all (when they don't) and aren't willing to learn new things..... I guess they think if "I didn't think of it it can't be true"...... talk about narrow minded...

Just reflect on your own comment for a moment.

How did all these PhDs in Washington DC hired by government bodies and head the various government bureaucracies CREATE the situation America we are experiencing?

The best, the brightest, the most educated are partially responsible for America's own downfall beyond the elected leaders and the voters.

But they're only "Book smart" and that's why, you have to have lifes experiences to go with education....... Street smarts and common sense goes a long way towards solving problems....... correctly!!!

You have a way with words. Use Ben Bernanke as an example. He controls the US economy from the position of throttling liquidity; he answers to Congress periodically and lies each and every time. Everyone closes their Congressional hearings with the idea that Ben Bernanke is a "smart" man and the economy continues to sink.

Bernanke was GWBush's appointee in 2006 as the Chairman of the FED. That was five years ago. And, each and every year since then has there been any improvement about America's economics?

BIG_BEN is top dag. He has consistently lied to the Congress and the American People. But all government People do that, correct?

I learned something a long time ago, not all "Smart" people are smart.... In fact more of the supposed/self proclaimed "Smart" people nowadays actually have no clue as to what is going on, because they learned the wrong lessons in school/life.....

They lie because they're inept, crooks or both!!!! usually both..

Have you ever considered Michael Brown? Brown was appointed as the head of FEMA by GWBush in 2003; normally a benign position for bureaucrats. It was one of those (wink, wink) jobs.

Brown resigned under NATIONAL disgrace for his absolute INEPT handling of the Katrina disaster in 2005.

And with Democrats, irrespective of Presidential appointment I can continue FOREVER about any historical glimpse of BIG credentials while operating as a lamer, too.

The truth is: as a People, America shouldn't hire these EXPERTS. None of them make sense; all of them condone the downward fall of America in the name they are following "process&procedure."

You see, America has grown limp. We no longer have fighters in government that defend the American People or even the rights, liberties and freedoms we are naturally endowed with; ALL government workers [whether high or low in position] are too busy creating their next year's department budget for submission to Congress, which shall invariably "rubber stamp" the same.

So how do we remove fascism from America?

It used to be back in the day you paid your dues as you moved up the ladder to leadership, I.E. you knew what you were doing if you had that job.....

I noticed when I first went into the Military in the late 70s that the Senior Non-Commissioned Officers E8s and E9s (SNCOs) knew their shit, and the young airmen could learn a lot from them...... After a few years as the older SNCOs retired, other were promoted to take their place. But the replacements didn't seem to know as much as the older ones... When it was my turn to try to get promoted into one of those slots I found out why that had happened..... They had changed the criteria for promotion from "What you knew" to "Who you knew/blew"..... In essence politicised the promotion process to get people with "Political Correctness" into those jobs instead of people who "ACTUALLY KNEW HOW TO DO THE JOB".... (Sound staggeringly familiar)??????

Well needless to say I wasn't a "politically correct NCO", and so stayed as an E7 my last 12 years before I retired at 20 years.... In fact I had an E8 as a boss who tried to ruin my career because I wasn't political enough for him (he was down on his knees trying for E9).... (sound familiar again)!!!! Needless to say my Major had to step in to fix the problem.... told the E8 that if he wrote that bad performance report for me that the Major would write one for him too..... Citing lack of good judgement and lack of leadership ability, which would have ruined his career too...... And about 2 months later the E8 got a short notice remote assignment to Korea..... LOL.....

Educate people as to what it is and it's consequences, and vote out all of those who promote it......
