Tiger Woods won't be playing in next week's U.S. Open, he announced on his Twitter account. He tweeted Tuesday morning: "Not playing in US Open. Very disappointed. Short-term frustration for long-term gain."
Woods has been struggling with injuries to his left knee and Achilles' tendon. He will miss the U.S. Open for the first time since 1994. The Masters is now the only major he has never missed since turning professional in 1996.
