Gene's been saving a seat at the poker table for him.
Leo Strauss who was father of the neocons said that Gunsmoke and Perry Mason were the best TV shows. He liked Gunsmoke because it is easy to tell the good guy from the bad guy and becaus at the end of the every show the guy in the white hat kills the guy in the black hat. He liked Perry Mason because he always looks like he is working for honest clients who deserve to 'get off' and because he always looks like he, himself, is an ethical lawyer. In fact, his clients might be guilty as heck and he might be cheating them. What many people don't know is that much of Neocon political doctrine is based on how these shows influenced this man.
He had a website www.jamesarness.com which I've visited a few times over the past few years. He sold Gunsmoke memorabilia and autographed items. He also had monthly updates of his life. I remember him bragging about he and his wife taking their granddaughter trick or treating on Halloween. He sounded like a real nice guy. RIP James Arness.
You suppose correctly. Rest in Peace Mr. Arness.
Spoiled, stupid and ignorant, brain dead phuckwads, libTURD fools, tools, and idiots, are the real sickness; the messiah "king" obammy and his regime are only the symptoms.
The writing on those shows was ahead of its time. It holds up well, even today.

Agreed.
I prefered westerns like Maverick, Bat Masterson, and even the Wild Wild West to the more conventional ones like Bonanza, The Big Valley, etc. But even shows that were generally written well had political scews like the way they handled the problems with the way Native Americans were generally treated. Custer had it coming.
