My Note: This tops how a few weeks ago, Michelle Bachman came in New Hampshire and announced that the revolution started in Lexington and Concord (NH). Good going Sarah.

I can't view embedded graphics; for about a year I haven't been able to view them. It is purposeful for me. All I need is a plain ASCII text link to understand your perspective. Otherwise, it all goes down the bit bucket unless I choose to take time to find the link in the first place. I have sped up my viewing by this approach, particularly for all those cretins that choose to post pictures as opposed to reasonable discussions. It also ensures that some websites can't evaluate my accesses automatically. Just post ASCII text links, forget all the hotlink stuff, too.
Well Buck, most of what I do online is like that too. In fact, I even use a different computer to do posting (or gaming) because this is all I( need Windows for. Linux is much more secure and I prefer it. I post here with the lurker in mind too. So, apologies for the fluff content. Usually I keep that to a dull roar anyway. I am not concerned about any management. I am annoyed by all the graphics and hotlinks that rarely work for me. All this razzle-dazzle stuff might be impressive to lamers but it slows down my network for no reason. So, I adopted an entirely different approach to the Internet. No graphics and the speed is phenomenal irrespective of the OS. Your own redundant graphics used in your graphic tagline are removed, too. All I want to view are comments; all I want to see is discussion.

I am a student of people like Marshall McLuhan and understand that the cool medium of print has lost some of it's impact as a means of communication in this age of 'hot' mediums like the computer, TV and the cinema. Sometimes an embedded feature like a video or a graphic causes one to have a flash of intuition they would of missed if they were a lazy reader who does not take their time to make sure they understand what they have just read. We are an impatient culture of lazy readers. I post with that in mind. But thanks for your feedback too. As naturally I prefer discussion. I would point out to that the best foundation for a serious discussion is a well managed forum run in a fair and consistent manner, which is not what Stone's place is.

Gee Jag. This was in Beaverton, OR. He said he had been in 57 states, had one more to go and that his staff had talked him out of the time wasting journeys to Alaska and Hawaii. During Paul Revere’s ride he was stopped by British soldiers, which Revere recounts in a 1789 letter maintained by the Massachusetts Historical Society ,in his original language : "I observed a Wood at a Small distance, & made for that. When I got there, out Started Six officers, on Horse back,and orderd me to dismount;-one of them, who appeared to have the command, examined me, where I came from,& what my Name Was? I told him. it was Revere, he asked if it was Paul? I told him yes He asked me if I was an express? I answered in the afirmative. He demanded what time I left Boston? I told him; and added, that their troops had catched aground in passing the River, and that There would be five hundred Americans there in a short time, for I had alarmed the Country all the way up. He imediately rode towards those who stoppd us, when all five of them came down upon a full gallop; one of them, whom I afterwards found to be Major Mitchel, of the 5th Regiment, Clapped his pistol to my head, called me by name, & told me he was going to ask me some questions, & if I did not give him true answers, he would blow my brains out. He then asked me similar questions to those above. He then orderd me to mount my Horse, after searching me for arms. He then orderd them to advance, & to lead me in front. When we got to the Road, they turned down towards Lexington. When we had got about one Mile, the Major Rode up to the officer that was leading me, & told him to give me to the Sergeant. As soon as he took me, the Major orderd him, if I attempted to run, or any body insulted them, to blow my brains out. We rode till we got near Lexington Meeting-house, when the Militia fired a Voley of Guns, which appeared to alarm them very much." ... Upon being stopped, did Revere, in essence, warn the British soldiers of the colonists’ plans? Yes. The strawmen built by the media seems to almost indicate that Revere rode through the streets warning the British soldiers. In actuality, simply put, Paul Revere told Regulars of the colonists’ plans during his attempt to warn the colonists of the Regulars’ approach (Revere actually said, “the Regulars are coming!”. The colonist still viewed themselves as British subjects at the time and would not have said, “the British are coming”.) Additionally, as the Paul Revere Heritage Project notes, Revere had reason for concern that the colonists’ arms would be taken away as they questioned the location of the militia’s ammunition: The Redcoats had set temporary roadblocks as a security measure and on their way to Concord they encountered British soldiers. Prescott managed to escape; Revere was captured and Dawes tried to run away but was arrested shortly thereafter. The British held Revere and interrogated him with a pistol on his chest. He was asked about the plans of the militia and where they kept their ammunition. When asked where the Patriots were hiding he told them the truth and replied that they had 500 militiamen in Concord protecting them and 1500 coming. As they rode towards Concord he was told that if he tried to escape he would be shot. There were no claims by Governor Palin that Paul Revere’s ride had anything to do with the 2nd Amendment as some spuriously claim. She simply indicated the immediate concern of Revere and the colonists. It appears that the media once again fail to grasp the history of our Founding again. You may recall that the media were in an uproar when Governor Palin encouraged Tea Partiers to party like it’s 1773, and the media claimed she didn’t know her Revolutionary War history. Oops. Governor Palin stated that this “One Nation” bus tour would, in part, draw attention to America’s founding and history. It looks like she is doing just that." Revere was one of several people who were warning of British Troops. He was not inviting contact with them and deliberately seeking them out to give them information. If you believe that, it is you who is re-writing history, bubba.
Gee, what would we ever do without Caribou Barbie? We had been led to believe that Revere’s historic ride was actually for the purpose of warning our forefathers that the British were coming, it turns out that his midnight ride, complete with ringing bells and warning shots, was really all about letting the English know that we were armed. No wonder the British lost. According to her, they apparently went into the Revolutionary War in the erronious belief that we would not be armed and, as a result, failed to bring sufficient weaponry of their own. Fortunately, Revere’s warning apparently arrived too late. It is, after all, a long trip back to London to pick up one’s musket and then return to the colonies to get into the battle. ROTFLMAO!
