You couldn't miss it, the big Star of David hanging around Sarah Palin's neck as she toured the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island on Wednesday. NBC New York asked Palin about the significance just as she board her bus outside Fox Newschannel to head off to Boston. "Today is the 44th anniversary of Jerusalem being reunited," she said. "We want to call attention to that." The pendant is in every photo she took with fans and supporters and can be seen in every sound-bite captured by television crews. Some analysts wondered if the possible Republican candidate for president was actually wearing the necklace to play to the hometown audience as she hop-scotched around New York on her national bus tour. The reunification of Jerusalem under Israeli control followed the Six Day War in 1967. The event has become a national holiday in Israel, observed this year on June 1 and is marked by state ceremonies, memorial services and parades. Around the world the day is also observed in Jewish schools.

Why call attention to that? When did Israel become the 51st state? And Palin is no Christian. She worships herself. That's the thing that is irksome about the modern Republican party. They are so obvious. I mean even the star of David pendant she is sporting is huge so we won't lose the message I imagine. But the GOP is like that these days, big obvious simplistic messages and images. Nuances and subtlety are seen as bad - why? I don't know. Is it because the party bosses think the people they target are too stupid to get the subtlety? No, I think it is because Roger Ailes and his cohorts are TV - Radio guys and their world is a world that lives or dies by the value of commercials. You sell a product in 30 seconds or less so get the message out in a jingle. That is what I think became of the GOP post Reagan. TV and Radio sound bite jingoism over substance.
You are close,but missing the real point of view of the Israel-Firsters. It's not that Israel is a US state,it's that in THEIR mind the US is a servant state of Israel. They think we exist because God wants us here to provide financial and military aid to the Nation of Israel. THEY are "Gods Chosen People",and WE are THEIR servants because it is Gods will.
Correct, that is the Palin undertone for the "Star" necklace but my take on it is also to add that it is so blatant - so low brow - it is baby minded stuff. It shows that she can't operate beyond a superficial level. She is part of the mind set that has to make you wear a flag pin to show you are a true patriot.
In this case I disagree. To her there is nothing superficial at all about it. It is flown as a article of faith and solidarity,not a political gimmick. She is a true-believer.
Sneak...I hate to tell you this brother...but you are not going to be able to do the nasty with her no matter how kind you are to her here...
I know that. Hell,I'd be willing to bet that nobody but her husband has done the deed with her since high school. AND....from MY point of view what I have been saying about her isn't all that nice. Call me old-fashioned,but I think it is a requirement that anybody that runs for president of the US put America first.
I do too. FIRST, with responsible Washington DC leadership that doesn't place American troops around world for NOTHING. SECOND, with Americans that vote for responsible leadership in the FIRST place. And this discounts, all the people that boowhoowhoo bones from 30 years ago in battles long forgotten.

Such graphic language! Oh, please please don't make me boowhoowhoo for old bones dug up in Vietnam. I couldn't take it. Meanwhile, with Palin on the way into national politics wearing her Star of David, the corruption continues about the political strategies about how to sucker Americans into never ending wars that go nowhere.
