Lech Walesa WASHINGTON -- President Obama wraps up his European tour in Poland today, but he won't find any solidarity with the nation's one-time leader.
Lech Walesa, the former Polish president and Solidarity movement founder, snubbed Obama on the last day of his four-nation trip, refusing to meet with his fellow Nobel Peace Prize winner.
"I expect this meeting would only amount to a photo opportunity," Walesa, the heroic figure who helped lead his country to freedom from the Soviet bloc, told Agence France-Presse.
"It's difficult to tell journalists what you'd like to say to the president of a superpower. This time, I won't tell him, I won't meet him, it doesn't suit me," Walesa told a Polish news station.
