AUSTIN, Texas — Texas Gov. Rick Perry, the longest serving chief executive in the state's history and a politician who has never lost an election, said Friday he will consider seeking the Republican nomination for president. The outspoken conservative, who for months said he wasn't interesting in running for the White House, said he will consider entering the race after the Texas Legislature adjourns Monday. "I'm going to think about it," Perry said. "I think about a lot of things.

Given LBJ and GWB, I don't think anyone is too anxious to elect another Texas governor as POTUS.
Thats a darn good point. After Obama we aren't going to be too anxious to elect another sitting Senator or Congressman either with no executive experience either.
So who is a currently sitting Senator/Congressman/Governor that is worth voting for????

Ron Paul. Funny how all of the stuff he has been saying- about the economy, about the growing police-state and an out-of-control government- has gone down exactly as he said it would... Oh, they called him a "kook" and "out of touch," but as events have amply demonstrated, he's got a bead on what's really going on... and how to fix things. Nobody else even compares.

That's a much tougher question... If he hadn't been a Federal Reserve insider, I'd say Herman Cain... but knowing where he came from, I don't know... I can't stand any of the current crop of GOP (RINO) contenders- and that includes Caribou Barbie... I'll have to think about your question for a while...

( not that I care, but a lot of people will not vote for him just because of their experience with Obozo).. He's a businessman..... Pretty vague, said he would "consult the experts". He could be a good VP candidate for Ron Paul. There's common ground on financial policy. Cain wants to return to the gold standard, abolish the IRS, and have a flat tax. This sets him apart from other Fed Reserve chairman, IMO. He said the magic word in the SC debates... "EXISTING path to citizenship". No one ever admits that, there already is one.
Obama's watch stopped on 24 May 2008, but he's been too busy smoking crack to notice.
Cain supported the TARP bailout. Enough said.
