From weatheronline.com:

A record breaking spring of death and destruction continues in the US with more killer tornadoes and storms striking a large part of the country. There have been approximately 1,000 tornadoes so far this year; in a typical year, the U.S. sees a total of 1,274 for January - December. We're on track to double that. The highest number of tornadoes recorded in a single year were 1,817 in 2004.

Ironic as how global climate change is striking at the heart of Republican Rube states.

God, you are a fucking idiot.

Tornadoes are actually a sign of unusually COOL weather, or most correctly cool air masses colliding with warm masses. It's strictly a weather phenomenon. AGW would cause fewer such events, not more. Tornadoes are almost unheard of in the tropics.

Tornadoes are actually a sign of unusually COOL weather

100% Bullshit.

They are a "sign" of a rapid onset of warm weather underneath a what is usually a fast moving low pressure storm system...

If what you were stating was true, "Tornado Alley" would be across Montana, the UP of Michigan and New England.

It's strictly a weather phenomenon.

Duh...weather = climate, doofus.

Tornadoes are almost unheard of in the tropics.

Correct. They call them hurricanes, typhoons and monsoons instead.

Strict Arctic influenced storms rarely cause tornados, it's usually the storms coming up from the Gulf and when they meet the cooler air right over what is now tornado alley...........

The problem with the deniers argument is that it relies on several faslehoods which they tutrn into slaight of hand.

"Tornadoes aren't a sign of warming..." is an example. The statement is correct because the cause/effect isn't stated. The dynamic is actually: Warming affects climate which affects weather patterns.

I find it hilarious that as the predictions of climate science come to reality the deniers then point to these effects as being "proof" that the climate scientists are wrong.

Alaska should be the tornado capital of the world according to some.

I find hiarious that no matter what happens the warm-mongers say global warming caused it.
