Thanks for the update. So far the vote is going the right way.
Corwin filed suit this morning to delay the certification of the results. The GOP isn't very optimistic, is it? Big thing to watch is if the D stays over 50%.

For comparison, the Republican incumbent won 55% of the vote in 2008

Your sarcasm is noted. And it isn't me who is touting this race as a litmus test for the effect of the House passing the Ryan budget. Many of those who ware doing so are Republican, and this does indeed worry them.
As it should, since this is a solidly Republican district.

And far from the only Republican district that is effected. Many others had constituents go meet their representatives waving torches and pitchforks over the Ryan Budget. And older peole are fairly well immune to lie advertizements when special interests pour in money for spots trying to paint a budget that kills Medicare as being out to save it.
The GOP was apparently surprised that people are pissed about having Medicare taken away so the Rush Limbaughs can keep their big tax cuts to pay for their private golf club memberships.
Republican have held this seat for all but 2 of the last 58 years.

The voters have spoken, now we will see even more rats fleeing the U.S.S. Ryan Budget.
There's always the chance that 7,000 Republican votes will mysteriously be found tomorrow.
Tea party costs the GOP another seat, Hochul is at 48%, the GOP candidate 42, Tea Party 8. Obviously the lesson for the tea party here is that if Romney wins the 2012 nomination, then they need to run a third party challenger.

Yes, the Wisconsin effect. There are troubling indications from irregularities found there that indicate fruad there this last State Supreme Court race. Let's hope things don't happen like that in New York.

A seat which had been held by the Republicans in New York's 26th Congressional District was won by Democrat Kathy Hochul in Tuesday's special election. Hochul's opponent was Republican Jane Corwin who lost by the narrow margin of 47 percent to 43 percent. A 3rd candidate, Democrat-turned Tea Party candidate Jack Davis, garnered 9 percent of the votes. Here is the proof: Democrat gets seat from GOP, http://nestype.com.

According to a recent Siena poll, 21 percent of voters say Medicare is their top issue, and Democrat Kathy Hochul leads by 29 points among those voters. A new PPP poll shows Hochul up six points.
