(CNSNews.com) - In his commencement speech at Hamilton College on Sunday, former Vice President Al Gore told the graduates that global warming is “the most serious challenge our civilization has ever faced.” But as an undergraduate at Harvard University in the late 1960s, Gore--one of the most prominent spokesmen on climate change today--earned a “D” in Natural Sciences.

Gore’s transcript documents that during his sophomore year at Harvard he earned a "D" in Natural Sciences 6 (Man’s Place in Nature). Also, as a senior at Harvard, he earned a C-plus in Natural Sciences 118.

Gore, along with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 for his work on global warming.

For his college board achievement tests, Gore earned a 488 (out of 800) in physics, and a 519 (out of 800) in chemistry. Gore’s academic records were first obtained and reported on by reporters David Maraniss and Ellen Nakashima at The Washington Post in March 2000.

Gore did relatively well, however, on the SAT, earning 1355 (out of 1600). For comparison, George W. Bush got 1206 on the SAT.

President Barack Obama has not released his academic records. He first attended Occidental College and then transferred in 1981 to Columbia University, where he earned his B.A. He later went to Harvard Law School and earned his J.D. in 1991.

Former Utah Governor and current Republican Presidential Candidate John Huntsman.

This is an issue that ought to be answered by the scientific community; I'm not a meteorologist. All I know is 90 percent of the scientists say climate change is occurring. If 90 percent of the oncological community said something was causing cancer we'd listen to them. I respect science and the professionals behind the science so I tend to think it's better left to the science community – though we can debate what that means for the energy and transportation sectors.

At this point I rate the credibility of those who argue that global warming isn't happening, or that human activity isn't contributing to a warming climate, about the same as those who argue that we never landed on the moon. It takes a special kind of denial to see what is going on in the world over the last few years, and all the data from multiple sources, and still argue that the planet isn't warming.

Of course that's not true.

Even the Berkely Earth Surface Temperature Study, funded by the Koch brothers to disprove global warming, has confirmed, that the data is accurately showing a warming planet.

A couple of weeks ago, the committee invited Professor Richard Muller of the Berkeley Earth Surface Temperatures project to testify. Muller, a longtime critic of government-led climate studies, had initiated the project at the University of California, Berkeley, expecting to cast scientific doubt on those government sponsored studies.

According to the McClatchy News Service, the Berkeley project's biggest private backer is the Charles G. Koch Charitable Foundation. Oil billionaires Charles and David Koch are the nation's most prominent funders of efforts to prevent curbs on the burning of fossil fuels.

Muller, however, unexpectedly told the congressional hearing that the work of the three principal groups that have analyzed temperature trends underlying climate science is "excellent... We see a global warming trend that is very similar to that previously reported by the other groups."

Seeing he is just another elitist liberal scumbag, I'm guessing Harvard. You just can't see these people for what they do, can you? You are so hung up on Democrat versus Republican you can't see they are the same thing.

The scientists Gore spoke to were correct is more like it. Global climate change is not based on opinion but on peer reviewed science.

It does not matter what Gore's science class grade was because Gore is not the one doing the research - scientists are.

Science is not Republican vs Democrat.

It is based on peer reviewed empirical evidence. If you deny global climate change you deny the earth orbits the sun.
