Herman Cain has been adamant in the past that Congress shouldnt make a deal to raise the debt limit, but today on Fox News Sunday he admitted that his plan to not raise the debt ceiling wont work now because Congress has allowed the situation to become a disaster. I have to wonder why he would give that plan as an answer in the first place. If he believes that the debt limit ideally shouldnt be raised, then OK. But idealism and practicality must meet somewhere and up to this point I havent heard Cain suggesting they should make a deal for any reason whatsoever. In fact just the opposite. He said just the other day that I wouldnt raise it. I would force the hard discipline now. Thats a completely different answer than what he said today.
