How can the Germans be kicking our ass? They have powerful, well paid trade unions, get a months paid vacation, universal health care and are taxed to support public spending projects?

It makes no sense! The Germans do the opposite of what the Republican Tea Party says we should do and they are doing better than America? How is that possible? It's called reality. Deal with it.

Not to mention integrating the failed East German economy.

I'm glad to see LF's two leading minds are heralding the truth to the unwashed. I don't see any mention of the scam the German's are running at the expense of the rest of Europe called the EU. But just sell it as a triumph of socialism if you mean spreading misery equally.

I called it socialism because the so called conservatives on this forum are - let's face it - idiots. And to them the German "Social Market" is "Socialism".

Germany has a mixed-market economy. And it works. And when presented with the open borders trade - they outsourced the cheap manufacturing stuff and invested in high end manufacturing.

A cheap electric drill made in China is OK for household work and the Germans can't compete with that so they manufacture electric drills for professional contractors that are too expensive for the average consumer but sought after by professionals for their quality and durability. etc.

Because Germany is infused with the Christian-Democrat ideology of social responsibility, this tempers the capitalist pig mindset that the first thing a person should look out for is himself rather than society and thus preventing CEOs from gutting their companies/firing employees/outsourcing for quick stock gains so they can retire to the Hamptons.

The EU is not a scam, the economies of Greece, Spain and Portugal, etc were Goldman-Sachs run scams that became exposed when the market collapsed.

Here is what the Heritage Foundation says about German socialism:

Overall business freedom is well protected. The efficient regulatory framework allows dynamic and innovative processes for business formation and operation.

and

Contractual arrangements are secure, and commercial law and private contracts are respected. All property is protected, and the judiciary and civil service are highly professional.

and

Despite the challenging global economic environment, Germany continues to be one of the world’s most powerful and dynamic economies. Business freedom and investment freedom are strong. Long-term competitiveness and entrepreneurial growth are supported by openness to global commerce, well-protected property rights, and a sound business regulatory environment.

Definition of Socialism: "Any of various theories or systems of social organization in which the means of producing and distributing goods is owned collectively or by a centralized government that often plans and controls the economy."

Please explain to this ignorant libtard how Germany fits the definition of socialism.

Please explain to this ignorant libtard how Germany fits the definition of socialism.

Like I said the the Republican retards, Germany is "socialist" so I play that up but they really are a mixed-economy aka Social Market economy - but that is too complicated a concept for the ditto heads of the GOP so I have no problem using Germany as a a "socialist" example and rubbing their faces in reality.

I do know the Repub-tards are triumphalists - to them winning means God is on their side, etc. To lose is like getting their manhood removed (See the movie "Patton" with he opening monologue - that pretty much is right wing American ideology in a nutshell). So with that in mind, bringing up how Germany is kicking our asses and eating our lunch makes them freak out.

LOOOOOOOSERS!!!! LOOOOOOOOOSERS!!!!!!

Nope, that ain't right. Individuals fail, the system is a success, even if half the American people earn so little that they escape paying income tax.

If I were to raise a family today, I would want to do it in Europe where family values include medical care and a work schedule that actually allows one to spend time with his family.

I saw a busload of mixed age German tourists a few weeks ago unload at a local outlet mall. They seemed extremely fit and healthy compared to the average slovenly shopper at that same high end mall.

We are starting to look like we are actually being poisoned. Look at the typical undyed(if you can find one) Causasian over thirty American woman's hair. Most are thinning, and lacking in luster and body. That must be why so many US men go to Europe to find a wife.

In the 70s-80s they started to allow more processed/artificial ingredients in foods, cereal loaded with corn sweetner, etc.

I read somewhere that if you took an American from the 1900s and had him eat food from today he would be unable to eat it because the processed food of today is so salty and so sweet (like hundreds or thousands of time more) that he would gag on the food and spit it out.

There was a recent story about the last fat man from the circus side show who died. When he was at his peak it was the 60s and 70s - it stood out because back then when he was in the circus his weight was uncommon and today he would be one of the skinnier fat guys at the Walmart.
