Rep. Michelle Bachmann rose to national prominence by courting controversy and firing up the conservative base. Thousands of politically active people would gladly argue with her if given the opportunity. It is therefore interesting that a high school sophomore in Cherry Valley, N.J., has generated national headlines by challenging the Minnesota Congresswoman to a debate. "I have found quite a few of your statements regarding The Constitution of the United States, the quality of public school education and general U.S. civics matters to be factually incorrect, inaccurately applied or grossly distorted," Amy Myers wrote in early May in an open letter to Bachmann. "Though politically expedient, incorrect comments cast a shadow on your person and by unfortunate proxy, both your supporters and detractors alike often generalize this shadow to women as a whole." To be honest, I find the bit about incorrect comments reflecting badly on all women to be overwrought and off-putting. Women should be as free to engage in opportunistic, intellectually dishonest hackery as men! But I can't help but celebrate the letter's stirring conclusion: "I, Amy Myers, do hereby challenge Representative Michele Bachmann to a Public Forum Debate and/or Fact Test on The Constitution of the United States, United States History and United States Civics."

war has to do something for entertainment. The voices in his head aren't speaking to him and his imaginary friends have found reasons not to come over anymore.

what's a lie? She was reading off a teleprompter and looking at the wrong camera. Did you miss it? Are you not aware that Bachmann uses a teleprompter? Did you miss the fact that she blamed her statement that the revolutionary war battles of Lexington and Concord were fought in New Hampshire on a teleprompter? "Thats because your basically and idiot." Maybe I should rephrase the challenge: challenge the cult leader to a debate WITHOUT teleprompters. I'd pay money to see that.

Did you miss the 2008 campaign? Obama participated in 25 debates in the primaries, and 3 presidential debates, plus two town-hall style forums, all without a teleprompter. You are woefully uninformed my friend.

Back in March, Bachmann told a group of local New Hampshire Republicans, "You're the state where the shot was heard around the world in Lexington and Concord." However, the first shots of the Revolutionary War were fired in Massachusetts, not the Granite State.
On Sunday morning, Bachmann suggested that the misstep didn't result from a lack of geographic or historical knowledge, but rather her use of a teleprompter while she was speaking.
