Title: Retarded Freak Say There Is No Heaven

British scientist Stephen Hawking has branded heaven a "fairy story" for people afraid of the dark, in his latest dismissal of the concepts underpinning the world's religions.

The author of 1988 international best-seller "A Brief History of Time" said in an interview with The Guardian published on Monday that his views were partly influenced by his battle with motor neurone disease.

"I have lived with the prospect of an early death for the last 49 years. I'm not afraid of death, but I'm in no hurry to die. I have so much I want to do first," he told the newspaper.

"I regard the brain as a computer which will stop working when its components fail. There is no heaven or afterlife for broken down computers; that is a fairy story for people afraid of the dark."

Hawking's stance on religion has hardened significantly in the nearly quarter century since the publication of his seminal work on the cosmos.

In "A Brief History of Time" he suggested that the idea of a divine being was not necessarily incompatible with a scientific understanding of the Universe.

But in his 2010 book "The Grand Design" he said a deity no longer has any place in theories on the creation of the universe in the light of a series of developments in physics.

Hawking has achieved worldwide fame for his research, writing and television documentaries despite suffering since the age of 21 from motor neurone disease that has left him disabled and dependent on a voice synthesiser.

Stephen Hawking is not a retarded freak. He's actually a genius, but even a genius can be wrong.

Hell, Einstein preached socialism.

He is a genius in his own mind and the mind of fools.

So you are calling Hawking an idiot for not believing there are ghosts who live in a ghost world all their own? Seriously? The same people who said there were ghosts also said there were werewolves and vampires. As late as the mid 1800s Americans would dig up the dead to anti-vampire the corpses. A couple of centuries earlier Americans killed people for being witches which meant they were actually dealing with the devil face to face. If you argued with those people they would also call you an idiot for not accepting that Salem had witches or that vampires and werewolves were not real (if they did not kill you for saying so, that is).

And right here in the 21st century people like you still butcher little babies and chop them into pieces. Truly evil. They should execute people like that.

How can you expect to be taken seriously when you not only allow murder on your forum everyday but join in.

"I am against abortion by the way but stone is a kook."

I am against abortion and the death penalty as both work to undermine the sanctity of human life.

But Stone trots out the image of dead baby bodies every time he feels insecure about how well he argues a point.

The way the idiot did this thread just shows how immature and pointless Stone is.

He acts like being an atheist is a criminal act and not a valid position on religion protected by the First Amendment.

Why Stone hates the Constitution so is beyond me. He wants to be the sort of religious bully the Constitution is there to protect people against.

The Constitution protects people from religion every bit as much as it protects small religions from being attacked and bullied by larger ones.

If he can't understand that, I don't see the point he has in running this forum.

Yours' ring crazy. Don't you understand the U.S. Constitution?

People have freedom of religion, says so right in the First Amendment.

How does this man's view on religion rate the waving of the aborted fetus around?

Grow up, Stone. Atheists are not criminals, and being one does not automatically make them pro abortion. You just sound immature and silly criticizing this man for being an independent thinker, which is exactly what his job is anyway.

I'm going to shock Mr. Stone here in that while I still mantain my Christian faith (in the Universalist, NOT the Fundie sense) I have recently turned Evolutionist due to my Internet studies of a group of fossil animals called Synapsids. (These are the class of reptile like mammal ancestors and the mammals themselves in the cladistic interpretation of the fossil record).

I found out that the Synapsida as a whole forms a remarkable set of transitions between their early "reptile" like forms and true mammals. (Even though it is still popular to call pre mammal Synapsids "mammal like reptiles" this is no longer a correct term because the Synapsida now is considered totally separate from the Diapsida or Sauropsida where modern reptiles and birds are placed cladistically. The current correct practice is to call mammals mammals and their ancesters either Pre Mammal Synapsids or simply Synapsids.)

After finding out that this set of transitional forms actually existed I began to wonder why creation "science" literature never mentioned the Synapsida. (Not exactly true, Dwaine Gish mentioned them ONCE in an online article and in his obsolite books about the fossil record (refering to the pre mammal forms incorrectly as "reptiles" both times) but not a word about them was mentioned in creation "science" circles after that. The donosaurs (Diapsida / Sauropsida) became and STAYED the be all and end all of extinct life forms in the fossil record in creation "science" circles after these two articles. I further found out that Robert Bakker the Paleontologist who helped to discover many of the secrets of dinosaur and pre mammal synapsid warm bloodedness was an ordained Christian Minister.

I would advise A K A stone to get out of the creationist books and take a good open minded look at the Synapsida as a whole (both Pre Mammal and Mammal) before trumpeting the "there are no transitional forms" screed again.

The creation "scientistists" are HIDING the Synapsida from their readers and their students and actually growing their noses (ie LYING) in a most ungodly way by so doing.
