Whenever you hear the word alien in stalker cases, a shrink is not far behind.
A man accused of stalking Donald Trump's eldest daughter, Ivanka, was remanded by a New York judge to a psychiatric facility for further evaluation after confessing that E.T.'s may have been to blame for his continued harassment of the Apprentice star.
So where will he be phoning home from?
A Manhattan Criminal Court Thursday determined that 28-year-old Justin Massler was incapable of understanding that he violated an order of protection prohibiting him from contacting Trump or members of her family. The decision was based on preliminary findings of two court-appointed psychiatrists.
As a result, per the New York Daily News, the judge ordered Massler to spend a year at the psychiatric ward at New York's Bellevue Hospital. Unless that is, doctors feel he's fit to stand trial on a half-dozen felony counts, including stalking and sending harassing emails and tweets to Ivanka and her hubby, Jared Kushner.
If however, he isn't all there, he could end up being held at Bellevue for a maximum of four years.
At today's proceeding, Massler, dressed in a T-shirt and jeans, didn't help his cause when, upon being told he was headed for a head check, he interrupted the judge with an outburst blaming his actions on beings from beyond.
"The psychiatric system was corrupt," he said. "I feel that I was under some supernatural influence and that aliens could have been involved."
Massler, who apparently won't take no for an answer, was busted last April after another online barrage in which he professed his love for the younger Trump; suggested taking over The New York Observer, the newspaper Kushner publishes; started a chilling fan page dedicated to Ivanka; and threatened to commit suicide if she didn't reciprocate.
Needless to say, it turns out the Nevada native has a history of psychiatric problems, mostly involving schizophrenia.
"It's unfortunate that someone who had so much promise growing up would be affected by mental illness this way, and cause him to deteriorate to this level," said his attorney, George Vomvolakis, who agreed with prosecutors to send his client to the mental ward.
A rep for Ivanka could not be reached for comment.
