SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Dozens of California teachers rallied Monday in downtown San Francisco, launching a week of statewide protests over the threat of deep budget cuts to public education. The demonstrations and teach-ins were planned as schools face the prospect of mass layoffs, program cuts and shorter school years. The protests will culminate Friday with a sit-in at the state Capitol. "We're here to make a statement," said Dennis Kelly, president of United Educators of San Francisco, which represents more than 6,000 employees of the San Francisco Unified School District. Kelly was among about 100 school personnel who gathered at 5:30 a.m. and marched to school district headquarters. About 60 then boarded a chartered bus to Sacramento to protest and lobby lawmakers.

As a Father of LAUSD kids, the waste is enormous. The amount paid to "educate" our kids us phathomable. What's the dollar amounts paid for public education?
When I was a kid going to school in northern California in the beginning of the New Math era, we were expected to, and did, provide our own school supplies and our parents provided us with a bag lunch better than anything the school could provide. Now, I pass school supplies drives run by schools, begging for paper and pencils. WTF? Where does the money go? I'll tell you: into bank accounts as graft. They claim they cannot provide lunches to the children. I say that is the parent's job. Good money after bad.
Like in third world countries? Sounds like the educational system in Pakistan or Somalia.
No, Destro, it sounds like a prosperous time before the radical left destroyed this country through perverting its education system. We once had an education system the envy of the world. You and yours couldn't stand that so you destroyed it with commie pos indoctrinators and protected them with unions.

More single moms to give mega handouts to.. This also encourages the father to not take responsibility for her and the child through marriage, or pay child support.... More government sponsored orphanages...... That way they get an early start on brainwashing the kids into socialism. More lazy, stupid POS Democrat voters on Welfare, Food stamps, WIC....etc..etc.. More losers on the dole means they have to collect more taxes.... I mean what's not to like if your a Libtard politician, you get the best of all worlds.... It's biologically almost impossible. Even priests can't all do it. It used to be when life was short people married in their teens and died in their twenties so the ages where you would be the most sexually active was one where people were in wedlock. But now teen brides are rare and in most cases illegal in America so the old model does not work any more. I read a study on this. Our grandparents and great grandparents weren't more chaste. It's that they got married young. I don't get why the Republicans (outside of religious kook reasons) can't do what every scientifically based advance nation does and teach sex education and encourage condom use. You think Jesus will cause America to be visited by hellfire if we do this?

Is it because people have "RECENTLY" become more educated about condom use, even though it has been taught in the schools for about 50 years????? Or is it because people have decided they don't want to take the chance of getting an incurable STD????? Or is it because they are just abstaining more??? Recent studies show people are about 25% "LESS" sexually active than just 10 years ago..... So you make the call........
