It’s a fact that by now only the left’s bitter enders will deny, but it’s nice hearing it from the former US Attorney General. It began with a disclosure from Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (KSM), who broke like a dam under the pressure of harsh interrogation techniques that included waterboarding. He loosed a torrent of information—including eventually the nickname of a trusted courier of bin Laden. That regimen of harsh interrogation was used on KSM after another detainee, Abu Zubaydeh, was subjected to the same techniques. When he broke, he said that he and other members of al Qaeda were obligated to resist only until they could no longer do so, at which point it became permissible for them to yield. “Do this for all the brothers,” he advised his interrogators. Abu Zubaydeh was coerced into disclosing information that led to the capture of Ramzi bin al Shibh, another of the planners of 9/11. Bin al Shibh disclosed information that, when combined with what was learned from Abu Zubaydeh, helped lead to the capture of KSM and other senior terrorists and the disruption of follow-on plots aimed at both Europe and the United States. Another of those gathered up later in this harvest, Abu Faraj al-Libi, also was subjected to certain of these harsh techniques and disclosed further details about bin Laden’s couriers that helped in last weekend’s achievement. And that plus other information, both new and corroborating what had already been learned, led to bin Laden’s courier, which led to Bin Laden, which led to bin Laden experiencing kinetic military action and taking a permanent swim. It was Bush’s gutsycall.com to treat captured terrorists as unlawful enemy combatants, not high grade criminals, that led over time to the intelligence on bin Laden.

The NeoCons are buying Obamas story because they want to use it to justify torture.
I've had my doubts about whether or not Osama was actually killed, but since al Qaeda has confirmed it, I would say it is most likely true.
Now, I know I’m not going to change the minds of any of the True Believers…those who read all of Reverend Al’s sermons, and say things like, “You know, global warming can mean warmer OR colder, wetter OR drier, cloudier OR sunnier, windier OR calmer, …”. Can I get an ‘amen’??

America...My Kind Of Place... "I truly am not that concerned about [bin Laden]..." I don't see it as torture personally. And the simple truth is we live in an era where we may regret the actions force us to take, but we have to take them none the less in some limited cases. The potential for abuse of these techniques can't be denied. I don't deny that. But I think you have to allow a President the latitude to directly order something like waterboarding as Bush did three times eight years ago. The truth is it works, only the kook aid drinkers believe otherwise. Yes...you mgith actually lie...the first time around. But if you are sitting in a black op facility, knowing it will happen again when the lie is discovered...well, you wont' the second time as we now know. I guess it comes down to one simple question. Is the theory worth the price of 3,000 American deaths on a 9/11? Not to me. We regret the actions others force us to take in short. But we have to take them, again in very limit, unique circumstances. If it was employed in error, we deal with that POTUS that authorized it. But better to error on the side of keeping thousands of us alive is my view. No matter who the POTUS is, a Clinton, a Bush or an Owe-bama.

Let me know when you have proof bin Laden wasn't killed last Sunday. Til then, Stone, you have nothing but a wild eye'd theory based on your own perception of the government. I'm not saying a healthy skepticism isn't a good thing related to the government. I am saying you have nothing to support the viewpoint you've been expressing since the announcement. No different than the fake moon landing crowd, the Clinton Arkancide crowd, the Bush Knew crowd, the Owe-bama birther nutcases.

Bin Laden hasn't been doing anything for a decade. That is what is called evidence. No body isn't evidence. Someone saying they have DNA evidence isn't evidence. There just hasn't been any evidence to date. Yes what I said is my opinion.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, Stone. But you don't have anything but that opinion on this topic. Like the birthers, or the truthers, or the fake moon landing crowd. That should at least bother you a tad. And thats my opinion. Anyway, have a good weekend. Catch ya Monday.

Yes and I'm sure that allowing the police to walk into anyone's house at any time without a warrant in order to search for criminal activity would decrease crime too.
