What Obama did strikes at their fantasy made up narrative of Obama being soft and gay (probably because he likes reading and talks intelligently - very much like in the way the goobers in the movie "Idiocrisy" called the smart talking hero a "fag" for sounding smart).

I know. The forum is run with bully ethic by a man that says he runs a fair game in it where anyone can play, then he works behind the scenes to hobble the opposition. He probably liked to pick on artsy shorter guys in high school and bully them with the derogatory appellation for gay. I'm not impressed.
Oh, and he likes to think he is smart, and does it without it being obvious. But he's much dumber than he thinks he is. Him, Q and Gnu should go do a threesome, they are all three a lot alike.

The irony, of course, is liberals find anyone in the military appalling and nothing more than 'dead enders'. And they firmly believe, over cocktails off the record, the SEAL's are nothing but American assasins that should be defunded. There's no evidence it was SEAL Team Six. Do you have evidence that it wasn't? Nope. And thats related to my comment in what way? Run a google search, goofy. The claim 'seal team six' just popped up in the media, with no attribution. Same thing happened over the years related to Pablo Escobar, for just one example. It wasn't the SEALS, it was Delta Force. Team Six doesn't normally do this kind of operation.

I hate to tell you this but there is a Seal Team Six that was put together in the early 1980's for specific, rapid response purposes such as these... I have heard this tag applied several times through the years...check out "Dock's Lock's" and check out Dock...

A key component to making a small team of men work fast intensely furious in their actions in a seamless way is to create a team of men who know each other extremely well who have worked with each other over a long period of time. This is not Hollywood. Seal Team 6 is very real, and very much consistently the same people slotted in the same active duty billet.
The military team that killed Osama Bin Laden is an elite special forces group "unofficially" called Seal Team 6. Officially, the team's name is classified and not available to the public, technically there is no team 6. A Tier-One counter-terrorism force similar to the Army's elusive Delta group, Team 6's mission rarely make it to paper much less the newspaper. It shows how important the publicity about Bin Laden's killing is to the U.S. that this morning, Team 6 is front-page news. The members of Team 6 are all "black" operatives. They exist outside military protocol, engage in operations that are at the highest level of classification and often outside the boundaries of international law. To maintain plausible deniability in case they are caught, records of black operations are rarely, if ever, kept. The development of SEAL Team 6 was in direct response to the 1980 attempt to rescue the American hostages held in Iran. The mission was a terrific failure that fell apart at many points and illustrated the need for a dedicated counter- terrorist team capable of operating with the utmost secrecy. The Team was labeled 6 at the time to confuse Soviet intelligence about the number of SEAL teams in operation at the time. There were only two others. Team 6 poached the top operatives from other SEAL units and trained them even more intensely from there. Even among proven SEAL's the attrition rate for Team 6 is reported to be nearly half. There are no names available for current Team 6 members, but the CIA does recruit heavily from their numbers for their Special Operations Group, so it makes sense that they were chosen to work with the CIA on this mission. Team 6 is normally devoted to missions with maritime authority: ship rescues, oil rigs, naval bases or land bases accessible by water. There are no waterways near Bin Laden's compound. When a former Navy SEAL was called for a comment about this article all he could say was: "You know I'd love to help you man, but I can't say a word about Team 6. There is no Team 6."

I was part of a Special Forces A Team. I have a better background in low intensity conflict than you, and I understand asymmetrical combat (terrorism) better than you as it is from the perspective from having been inside the military as part of SOCOM. I did look it up, and I bet I surf the web on it more intelligently and effectively regarding this topic than you do.

I was by far the most liberal member of my team, but they actually liked that as I brought a perspective they thought useful when working in the field, training or real world. And it is no boast, just a fact. I don't mention it much, because I don't want to disrespect anyone with a boast. SF is quiet, sneaky and unassuming and will socialize with people like say leg infantry troops much more readily than 'varsity' infantry which is basically Rangers are. It does not matter how rough, tough, lean and mean a Ranger is when he goes to the selection phase before the SFQC if he does not show he understands SF level of teamwork and the qualities that part of the U.S. Army values very highly. He will be given the duffel bag drag back to Ranger Country id he shows too much arrogance and cockiness.

Indeed. I love them dearly and have the deepest of respect for them too. WHich is why I get very surly if I feel them disrespected in anyway. They are a special breed of men. I could not do what they do. In any coin check at a club, a Seal coin trumps an SF one every day of the week. Unless there is a leg with no coin present to completely fail to become the check payer.

Thanks for the citation. It's all I needed. You're welcome... I have the deepest respect for Craig Sawyer and all the men like him, they are heroes in my book.... They do what I could never do, all I could do was support the guys that fly cover for them.... They help to keep this country safe and do it without fanfare and under the cloak of anonymity... (which is the way it "HAS" to be for them to be effective).... So if I seen him or any of his friends in a bar I would definately buy them rounds until they left or passed out... LOL.....

Eric Greitens is a Navy SEAL, a commando who has helped track down al-Qaida operatives in Afghanistan. Challenging enough. But Greitens told me that the SEALs who raided Osama bin Laden's compound on Monday are a cut above. They are not just SEALs. They are members of SEAL Team Six, a secretive, anti-terror unit that is rarely even acknowledged by the military.
