Judge Parker - I see the LP Kloaughns ganging up on you at LP. You are a fine poster and there is no need for that sort of nonsense as WhiteSands, Gatlin, harrowup and their esteemed client, "yukon" have created. Come on over to LF and eventually leave LP. Although I can't speak for others on LF, I can say that you are an excellent poster worthy of respect and admiration similar to many others that have a personal opinion without gang warfare tactics. Today is an interesting day. Ten years ago two days from now I lost my Free Republic account. Five years ago I tried to sign on at eLPee and discovered Goldi banned me. Interesting. I have been banned on just about every political chit-chat channel under the Sun for some reason, some of the reasons are entirely mine, too. As an example in 2001, I was banned at FR for my stance against GWBush and the Zionist political blockade about Veronica's nasty attitude. So, I joined LF (LF was known as LibertyForum by John Deere) I loved that channel, too. It was perhaps the largest political chit-chat channel on the Internet at the time; perhaps to this day, too. And, BadJoe invited me to LP in 2003. The very first post to me was by unamused also from FR days. Unamused started the Lepers email system and later initiated FU which has essentially died, too. Christine, as most know, started 4um as a result of LP's failures AND FU's failures. Stone created LF because of FU. But, LP was the best test of a battle ground for many people that have the guts to recognize how fascism has overtaken the USA in the way of loss of individual freedoms, liberties and rights. There was no discussion of 0bama then ... oh no .... it was a tug 'o war about how to quell 9/11 based on USA strength. And lookie here... America is more at war today than ever before, even with a renewed Congress and a US President. It is an ever-ending toilet bowl flush. That is America these days. The government is so caught up with the world it has no place in the America [I knew as a child growing up] anymore. Anyone signing up to go to Washington DC is sucked into a BLACKHOLE similar to FR or LP and there is no coming back to sanity based on common sense or the US Constitution.

The people don't run the U.S. anymore, and the Constitution is observed only enough to give plausible denial to the notion things are broken. We have corporations free to go for the most desperate labor market they can find and the biggest perks offered to move their plants and concerns there. The Chinese have been the smartest player in this game and have reaches a point where they are almost eclipsing is. Many of those I know feel that the age of America will end by 2016. The ability to print the dollar to get us out of debt as the world's reserve community will end as this role is dismissed and we can't do this any more. We see the cracks forming as we can no longer control inflation and fuel costs hemorrhage. We will see a great deal of unrest and fighting as we can't help but let the poor starve and the old die for want of medical care. When the dollar no longer is the interface currency for trade, we will see real suffering, and things like what happened at Haymarket Square where cops breaking up striking workers were killed creating the Haymarket martyrs who had nothing to do with that act die unjustly at the end of a rope, rot in prison, or commit suicide. There will be blood and unrest that will cause a great backlash. A threshold of decision will come upon us as a nation where we either decide to be as repressive as China and go for managing for public docility, or have a rebirth of freedom and a renewed commitment to the ideals of the Founding Fathers and framers of the Constitution. With the Koch Brothers and many others buying repressiveness and control and really working to create a fascist state. They feel that if they create the fascist marriage of corporation and government that controls people hard and fast, they can prevent the unrest and turmoil. They are anything but stupid about things and can see what is happening. People need to get out of lala land and wake up. They need to get educated and form associations and fraternal bonds that can keep people focused away from destructive asts like the dynamite bomb at Haymarket Square blamed on striking iron workers and not give the powers that be the excuse to kill, maim and imprison. We need to take control as a people and do it firmly and peacefully, with adherence to democratic and Constitutional principles, if we want to insure it will be able to happen at all with as little suffering and bloodshed as possible. We need to have focus and will to firmly demand that those in power in government and those who control them follow their lead back to the checks and balances of power in government the Constitution was originally supposed to provide.
Good post, Mike. Let me ask you a question as a function of your statement: What do you think that threshold is? I mean is it further government intervention upon and/or the intrusion of the citizenry? Or do you think it is the other way, that is, government not as intrusive?

Government has less money to do what the need to do because the tax base is hemorrhaging. People do not have the spending power anymore to support business or give government what they need to work in a Constitution manner, so those international financial entities controlling the process of defunding government and business by destroying the spending power of the citizenry will try to call the shots. They will make a move. And if they can create chaos, death and destruction that will mask their gambit and make them seem like heroes when they do this, more the better for them. Like that old joke of the game warden telling the guy he is trying to stop fishing in an illegal way by talking to him as they row the boat across the lake together, they will hand government a lit strike of dynamite and ask, "are you going to talk and try to reason with us, or throw the dynamite and fish?" They know what they are doing and in a very Machiavellian way are maneuvering to make a move for complete control. A control where their is no pretense they are in charge, and people know better than to act like they run things any more. The money men will be in control of this operation, but it is the iron fist of the government that will be instrumentalized to do this.
How? Why? Whom are "they" ... just asking, of course. What makes you think "they" aren't already in control? After all, when you ever see any politician run for elected office, do you ever see the same suggest MORE individual rights, liberties and freedoms and dignity?
The normalcy bias refers to a mental state people enter when facing a disaster. It causes people to underestimate both the possibility of a disaster. People will not be able to fathom how fast or viciously things can change. They will go on complacent with life expecting the status quo will never change. They will be easy prey to be swept away and caught up by the upheaval of what is to come. Some are aware of what will happen and have learned from history how drastically and unmercifully things can change. They will for example do things like say buy silver counting on it to grow back to the history ratio of value between it and gold and keep enough capital to control their own destiny. They will make sure they are in a safe pace and secure situation to keep the coming flood of chaos way from them until thing subside and a new economic and political reality takes hold. People really better learn about hoe the normalcy bias is leading them directly to the point where the the stores are panic bought dry and it becomes routine to see dead people in the street and authorities don't care about their lives as much as they ruthlessly act to restore order and stability. They should for example look at how many Jews in Germany thought Hitler was a flash in the pan and that they could survive the Nazis they saw as a flash in the pan. How that even when they started dying and having their property seized and way of life destroyed they never would dream they would be gaunt dying people trapped in concentration camps or something like the Warsaw ghetto. They should look at how people thought The Great World War now called World War I would be a short war and was a situation some actually thought might be a good thing. And how many people dies and how drastically the map of Europe was redrawn. They are waiting for a tipping point. Wisconsin is an interesting situation and might be a control used to test the best way and point when to do this. The pension fund of the government workers has actually been shown to be one of the most stable and well funded in the country. So they are looking to see how far they can push people to accept a loss of control of citizen right to control their jobs, communities and lives. Success at getting Democratic control of the state government back by recall and restoring collective bargaining is not necessarily victory. Not if those engineering this possible experiment take what they learn, make adjustments to it in regards to the timing of points where things are set to happen and how much dissent and public control is allowed. Or how many and where agent provocateurs are used to create the situations the media will then use to inflame public opinion in such a manner they become willing dupes to the process. (I will do your question point by point as a set of answers are not as easy to do as a take my time writing of this not relying on off the cuff knowledge without taking my time to research and craft them to create a polished position paper is.)
Because the rich and powerful always want more wealth and power. China likes their governmental stability and we horrify them with a governmental system they see as whimful and capricious. They tire of changing administrations and working with different players every few years. Corporations often feel much the same way. They want to create a stable and static governance engineered for stability and control, free from most of the illusion that the public owns and controls the government. That makes it easier to keep a static statis quo. To them it's good for business. and they feel what is good for business is best for everyone. They feel that if people just have enough to live their lives without what they see as unrealistic expectations of rising higher on the social and economic ladder, it will be a good thing. Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely, so I remember the lesson of Orwell's' Animal House. They will posture themselves as saviors and curry public opinion to encourage people to look upon them as great men and saviors. But in the end, the people will be like the other animals on the farm looking through the window at the dining farmers and pigs and thy all will look the same as they glance from pig/bureaucrat to farmer/industrialist and not see a difference between anyone sitting at the table of privilege.
People at the heart of control of corporate assets and capital from Jewish Bankers, the British Royal Family, the Chinese Government, and anyone else who controls the important gates and means of controlling the flow of capital and determines the pecking order of countries around the world. For example, many are ignorant of how Columbia is a client state of the U.S., how we bankroll the assassination of labor leaders threatening the cheap access of goods and materials from that country to make te U.S. stronger economically on the backs of the dis-empowered workers ther who have no rights and live in danger of death and imprisonment if they threaten the status quo. This is important an element of control of people in different part of the world. People are more complient if they know they will lose their place on the pecking order and they rock the boat enough to create a situation where they are made to be the ones with another country exploiting them and riding on their backs economically. Fascism keeps power by being able to control with country and population benefits selfishly form other lands and people. And people who want stable control of everything actually worry about things not even remotely talked about in the media or in schools teaching people how to be productive citizens educated to beable to be members of a modern work force. There is the yet untapped Continent of Antarctica to exploit. There is the low gravity well of the untouched lands of the Moon with is a low gravity well. This make sit the high ground. Anyone controlling the high ground in a low gravity well things can cheaply be made to escape the gravitational force of can throw 'rocks' and weaponry at the low ground which is the Earth. And the Earth is a place where it is much more expensive and harder to throw rock/weaponry back in response because the gravity well is so deep. It is no small wonder a major point of the long term NeoCon plan is to control access to space. Because in the future, he who controls the high ground outside the blue bubble of Earth, with be able to call the shots in many way. Those two things are example of things that will come into play after the next power balance is established and a new world order is really finally set in stone as a stable and enduring entity. But I wanted to throw them out to remind you that the events I speak of now which are occurring on the short tern of the next ten/twenty/thirty years aren't the climax of human history, and things we are barely talking about now might have far more influence and consequences for human history at the end of this century and the one after it, the 22nd Centry.
They have enough power and control, this that do to plan and execute the gambits I extrapolate on my off the cuff musings here. I hope I am very wrong in my worries in how things might go. But it's been a long time since I cut lose with part of my musings on what is happening and why this is so. It was fun to do and I am unusually well rested tonight, somewhat bored, and May, the month of my birth is always a special one to me when I tend to reflect on things, how they have gone and where I think they will go. I disagree. It was a bad decision made by an activist court. There is no way you can convince me that the founding fathers, who knew first hand the evil that derives from the economic union of government and private corporations, had anything like the Citizens United decision in mind when they wrote the Constitution. Did you ever think it was kind of weird for our forefathers to destroy private property by dumping tea in Boston Harbor if the issue had been taxation?
