If you take any document and convert it to a PDF then look at it in Illustrator, it will have layers. Don't believe me? Try it yourself. Another totally bullshit non-issue.

What does scanned have to do with it? The document everyone is looking at is a PDF file released by the White House. Try it yourself, moron. Make a document, any document. Type your grocery list. Use Adobe Acrobat and convert it to a PDF file. Open that file in Illustrator. Open the layers palette. Tell me what you see. Call me a liar again without any basis and you go on bozo, bozo.
A scanned document, and that's what this fake purports to be, would not have layers. It would scan as a one dimensional graphic with no differentiation between background and text. Why would it have layers? A scanner or PDF program isn't intelligent. It can't distinguish between readable text and background. But someone deliberately constructing new text over another document would layer it, piece by piece. btw, screw you. Hide behind your filter, coward and liar that you are.
That isn't entirely true, Rudgear. In today's world most scanned images use a vectored approach (layers) towards graphics for electronic data distribution. And very often Adobe PDF Writer is used to perform that task. In fact, Adobe CAN extract text from an image, minimizing manual re-typing. I have the Professional version of Adobe and use it all the time.
Then just try what I suggested. See for yourself. Hell, scan a file. Convert it to a PDF. Look at it in Illustrator. It WILL HAVE LAYERS. End of story.

I didn't understand it myself when the layer issue was brought up, so I spent all of five minutes testing it. Like you, I have the pro version of Acrobat as well as Illustrator. It's funny that not one of these internet "experts" thought of doing the same thing.
It isn't their fault from a true sense. Technology is moving so rapidly that it is hard for the average layman to keep up with much less experts in a given field. There is no argument about the authenticity of 0bama's birth as a US Citizen; there never really was one. Just like the Internet production of the COLB from some four years ago from Hawaii, it has been challenged. All we can do is sit back and enjoy the show.
It's almost as good as watching the Three Yukons. BTW, for anyone who is interested, here's a link on how birth certificates are to be filled out from the National Center for Health Statistics. Note box 25 (Father's Race). Read how it's to be determined. Also, if you look at this file in Illustrator, IT HAS LAYERS!!!!!!!!!!!
