Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, whose outspoken libertarian views and folksy style made him a cult hero during two previous presidential campaigns, will announce on Tuesday that he's going to try a third time. Sources close to Paul, who is in his 12th term in the House, said he will unveil an exploratory presidential committee, a key step in gearing up for a White House race. He will also unveil the campaign’s leadership team in Iowa, where the first votes of the presidential election will be cast in caucuses next year.

Will he commit to running as third party if necessary? IMO, he's not a serious candidate unless he's ready to go the distance.
I recall a re-run of MASH I saw where this uber right winger named Colonel Flagg... I agree.

Nobody (statistically speaking among voters) cares if Ron Paul, political gadfly supreme, once again indulges his ego in the primaries.

I know this seems far fetched, but I would love to see 'Rand Paul/Allen West' team up....
They're pretty far apart politically. West is a warmongering neocon. Rand is a conservative.

Not me. I've had enough of a less than one term Senator becoming POTUS, haven't you? Personally, I'd love to see Paul Ryan enter the primaries. If only to watch the Owe-bama Whitehouse freak....lol

So those 'familiar with American politics' take segments of posts out of context on which to make unrelated comments? I would expect that from someone like BTS. Did Fox News invite Ron Paul on during the 2008 campaign or did they not?

I voted for Ron Paul when he ran for President in 88. I gave him money in 2008, but I did not vote in the GOP primary. Ron Paul has been a courageous defender of liberty for almost four decades. We owe him a lot. But he is not going to win the GOP nomination. He doesn't have the resources to win as an independent. So, I'm going to do exactly what I did in 92 -- vote for a businessman and political outsider, in the hopes that he can shake the system up. Quite frankly, this is our last chance. And it may already be too late. will announce on Tuesday that he's going to try a third time
