Take heart, 9% of scientists describe themselves as Conservative.
This poll would appear to be quite dubious as to what they actually found.
First, there are a lot of things that are called "science" which really aren't, and a lot of people who call themselves scientists who don't really practice science. The vast majority of this category tend to be airhead liberals.
OTOH, just about every engineer I know is a conservative, the difference being that you can't just pull things out of your ass like these so called scientists do.
You said he's an "engineer" yet you go on to say he's a scientist at a research institute. Do you even know the difference between a scientist and an engineer.
I would certainly expect a "scientist" at a government funded "research" institute to be a liberal.
You post a bunch of irrelevant websites as proof of what? That some organizations seem to use the terms interchangeably?
You do know that no state (that I know of) will consider a science degree and science work as qualifying factors in becoming licensed as an a professional engineer?
