The quest for missing bones in rural Lancaster County could be the subject of a late-night mystery show. If those bones didn't belong to a tropical bird, that is.
The saga of Polly started about a year ago, when a parrot's owners gave their bird to a couple in Bennet. Sometime around Christmas, the bird's new owners informed the old owners that a dog killed the parrot.
Unconvinced, the former owners showed up at the new owners' home at noon Sunday demanding to see proof the bird was dead. They thought the new owners had sold it.
When no bird bones were produced, a dispute ensued that involved a call to the Lancaster County Sheriff.
No one was arrested or ticketed, but deputies told the people involved to stay away from one another.
