And from my perspective Stone is like the parent trying so hard for the fun of being his 'kid's' friend, he shuns the work of making it grow right and flourish. On Time.Com/Politics we called a thread starter a 'thread parent' to instill some sense of obligation to nurture a good thread taking off. He needs to have rules and standards everyone has to follow, he need to be a good forum parent. I have written him before at length giving him my feed back on what I see work or not work in forums, but really; he is the one who has to stand up and say, "enough" and look to people like McIver and others for feedback on how to make this place run fairly and be a place fun to engage in lively debate and discussion in. With all due respect Stone, you have to ditch some of the ego and admit you need feedback and the help of others to make this place flourish. You don't necessarily need it from me or any other one person, but you are continually trying to do the same thing hoping for different results every time you do so. That is just insane. With all due respect. I know I don't like coming here to focus wrath of hatred on anyone, especially those with whom I do not agree with politically or share a world view with. It would be nice to have a level playing field where articles and pieces are posted properly and when a discussion does not form agreement, people agree to disagree and can conclude a thread though things morphing into strange revenge attempts and grudge matches. Just my take on it. You have many people here with a great deal of posting experience, and you should respect them enough to promote consistency and fairness in how this place runs.

Until you ban anyone using your news listings for personal attacks, this won't stop, Stone I understand what you are saying. But what is a personal attack? Defined for this discussion: Personal Attack Thread - a thread solely created to abuse a member of YOUR FORUM via your Right Hand Column that allegedly lists 'news articles'. Having comments in reaction to a posters stated opinion is 'part of it' Stone. Thats what happens in these forums, and you have the filter available for those of us that simply lose interest in what somebody has to say. But the filter doesn't block 'personal attack threads' as defined up above. And they damn sure don't add anything positive to your forum here. So, again...why do you allow it? Whats the point of doing so?

In the face of knowing Stone is forth coming as to the two accounts having the same IP addy all Yukon will ever do is just dummy up on the subject. The thing we could do and did do was establish what we already figured out; that Yukon had this account. The one thing we can't do is make someone thousands of miles away from us in Alaska do our beck and call and fess up. Just my take on it.
Why don't you start you own website, Boofer, instead of telling everyone else how to run theirs? It's a pattern with you...Pipe...LP...FR...GBR...LF...

I duuno.. running these forums is not easy.. and I think he is doing a fine job. Stone has always taken care of me- when I asked. I have no complaints. I don't blame him for this mess. I wouldn't want to sit here and nanny people either, and I wouldn't want to have a bunch of mods- with different personalities, running around either. Rules are fine, but then someone has to enforce them- and who really wants that job? Who has time for that? AND even then, there is no way to keep everyone happy. It is unfortunate that some people take things too far- and disrupt. It is unfortunate that some people have no self control. He could ask for feedback- and experience from others, but it is his site. We can all go and start our own sites, if we want the headache. I don't want the headache. I wish people could just be responsible for themselves. Small government and small mod~ships. :)
The new screen names is relatively easy to deal with via this particular forums software. You can limit a new poster to as few posts as the host decides. Pretty sure you can block a ISP as well, in a couple of ways, if the host desires, but Stone would have to address that. Switching ISP's is a pain in the ass, having played that game a few years with with freedumb4em (grin)...so I don't think thats all that big of a deal. Some here have two or three ISP's, like the dwarf (office and home) but most do not.

People actually like a level playing field and though it is not fun to do a chore that will inevitably alienate some; someone has to do the administrative work which includes setting clear and consistent standards of behavior and enforcing them fairly. And he really is a guy who gets extremely passionate in his beliefs and he needs someone he trusts to work with him to give him a reality check to help keep his perspective. I appreciate it that he is at least mature enough to fess up when he did something that he would not of done except for the heat of the moment. But he can be a good administrator if he gets help from another he trusts who can help him avoid those moments when passion over rides reason. I am not perfect in that regard either and I have worked as a moderator and got slapped for losing my perspective when I got my Irish up over something. If I owned this place, or a place like this, I definitely would get someone's help to keep me focused on what was good for the venue, not just for me and what my ego in the heat of the moment says it wants me to do. It is never wrong to ask for and receive help. That was one of the hardest things I have had to learn in 56 years on this planet.

I forgot to mention this to you earlier, harrowup. 95.154.230.191 is the same Proxy ISP used by the hacker to post "the infamous thread" over at LP ... the ISP that you and I traced to the UK location. I was not surprised in any way when the ISP here on LF was the same.
