I did not say I was not a conservative anymore. I no longer identify with American conservatives - who I think have become know-nothing ditto headed low browed dupes - while they think of themselves as being independent minded, etc. I more closely identify with the traditionalist movement of conservative ideology exemplified by the European Christian Democrats, etc but I am now more rationalist than anything. I only care if a program works rather than the ideology behind it. Goal oriented vs ideology oriented. If lowering taxes raises revenues I am for it. If it is shown it does not then I am against it.
