Were I to stop paying AT&T, Verizon, TW or BellSouth and they shut me down, my email accounts would be suspended. The only point I was trying to make was that suspension of a Bellsouth email account does not automatically indicate a lack of funds. Try to keep up. What you wrote wasn't what you meant? I can access the email account I get from my internet provider no matter what ISP I am using. It's on the home page just as it is with BellSouth

------------------------------------- Someone used the fact that her email account was suspended to try to make the case that she was low on funds. I said that is stupid because I used to have a BellSouth email account and it is now suspended too. But it had nothing to do with lack of funds. The email accounts get shut off when you cancel the ISP services. It takes awhile but it happens.

Because PayPal considers it suspicious when someone sets up a dummy email account as the contact point to collect funds. A closed account = a dummy account.

When money is transferred to you via PayPal you have to confirm it. That method is via email. I always marvelled at how quickly GOldi would confirm a payment but how long she would ignore a regular email.
And how do you know that PayPal doesn't have a valid email address for Goldi?
I recall a re-run of MASH I saw where this uber right winger named Colonel Flagg... I think the confirmation is automatically generated, although I haven't been able to find out what happens when the email address is bad. It appears that PayPal will still let you send her money even though she's using a bad email address. It's a real messy situation, and I'd stay far away from it.

The validity of the email address is irrelevant if it was confirmed before going bad.
I have thousands of PayPal transactions under my belt. I have accidentally had multiple payments sent to a non-existent email address. I collected them all by simply buying the domain I used, creating the email address I used, and adding the email to my account. I have 7 emails associated with my PayPal account, one of which does not work because I shut it down but I still get and collect money from it.
It does appear that PayPal is more interested in collecting their 3% than protecting their customers from fraud.
