Society teaches homosexuals that there are grave consequences for them if they do not keep their sexuality hidden; that they will pay a price if they come out of the closet.

What society?

This a wild generalization that has little basis in fact.

The technology industry pioneered gay rights. Many other businesses followed as well as state and local governments.

Today, there is little prejudice against gays on the west coast and within the technology industry in general.

This has nothing to do with Yukon, who spent a couple of years out here bashing the very people he longed to make love with.

He [yukon] has to be not only accountable for hurting his community of gays, but those straights he has tried so hard to slander.

What is the political point of a gay person coming out of the closet on political chit-chat channel?

"What is the political point of a gay person coming out of the closet on political chit-chat channel?"

None. It is indicative of that person having an unhealthy dependence on the abusive situation they have fed into in a virtual community.

It sounds like pent up remorse manifesting itself in a way where the conscious loses control of the subconscious and the person winds up punishing themselves for what they have done. It sounds like he has a great deal of self loathing, and a need to create a crisis situation to give him stress and tension to feed on in an unhealthy way.

A lot of times if people suffer from post traumatic stress disorder, they don't feel 'normal' unless they do something that creates a level of tension that they need to feel normal.

It sounds like he doesn't have a good grounding in knowing what is normal, and what is probably the most scary thing is what is happening in real time that triggered this act of social hari kari he has done.

That is a dangerous game of Internet chicken. Sounds like some part of him wanted that to happen.

I bet he felt incredible rushes of stress after it happened, and that part of him that unconsciously had him do that reacted to the stress like it was an intoxicating drug.

I am not excusing 22rifle (where the HELL did he get that handle?) but he was closely linked to his pal, yukon. He is probably undergoing trauma because of his close internet association to a GODDAMNED SELF-ADMITTED QUEER.

1. You ever hear of a .22 rifle? Nifty little gun. I happen to be a fan of them. You got a problem with me liking a fun little gun that is deadly on small game?

2. I may be closely linked to yukon but that is by default, but because we necessarily liked each other. Example: I suspected him of being fairly OK with RINOs. I despise RINOs. The only thing we shared was an enjoyment of pissing off idiots.

3. As far as trauma? Ha! To me yukon is just a user name on a chat forum. Quite meaningless to me and I am sure he shares the sentiment. The only thing that really affected me by his announcement was that it pissed me off how he gave the idiots a leg to stand on. He's a bastard for doing that.

I agree.

People of his generation hid their homosexuality. Many got married and raised families to hide who they were.

Some had gay encounters on the side, while others spent a lifetime suppressing their real feelings.

I'm pretty sure that my ex-father-in-law was gay. He never talked about women or commented about women like most men do. He rarely made love to his wife (who was a real hottie). On and on...

Today, he has serious obsessive compulsive disorders. He scrubs his hands with soap, water, and a BRUSH 3 to 4 times an hour. He even carries around a bottle of anti-bacterial soap in his car and uses it constantly. Something is really wrong. (He's a dirty boy.)

It's sad.

"You do realize that the "self-outing" was inadvertent?"

To the right hemisphere, verbal part of the brain it was. But the human brain has many sides to it. Just look at those who have the nerve bundle between hemispheres (Corpus Callosum) cut to stop bad epileptic convulsions in much the same way one would alter a sound system to stop bad feedback squelches.

A person without such a structure linking the hemispheres seem normal until there is a conflict between the two.

For example, if you show the eye linked to the nonverbal side of a brain a picture of a naked woman (to a heterosexual man) they will start giggling, but cannot articulate why they are doing so.

Such people will have one side of their body undressing themselves, the other putting the clothes back on if the non communicating hemispheres don't want to do the same thing.

I'm sure part of him wanted this to happen, and/or was addicted to the stress of walking on the edge of the razor of a dangerous situation.

I'm telling you, a sane, non conflicted person will be damn sure never to mix activities like this on line.

What it makes me wonder about now is if there was a sexual component to the abuse he dished out in short one liners to others. He could of found such activity intoxicating erotic and it could of been fuel for a strange masturbation session.

I don't believe for a moment this was an innocent accident on all levels of his mind, and I strongly feel he should get help.

I have not a thing against homosexual behavior, and have many gay and lesbian friends. But I am a very liberal man in a very liberal community. In fact, Eugene, OR has probably the most lesbian couples enclaved here on the West coast I have been told.

Thus if I were indeed gay, I would have not a problem talking about it. You are free to be as immature in your talk on this topic you wish to be, because you cannot pull my strings on the issue. I just don't care.

I know who I am and what fires my rocket; which is of course the opposite gender as is the case with the vast majority of people.

Many people who claim to righteously hate gays and lesbians are actually more addicted to using accusations that others are homosexual and enjoy the baiting process more than anything else.

Thus, whatever your issue is, it's your problem, not mine.

Yukon is dying. And he has lied about this whole issue just to see whom really came out of the closet. It was a psychological ploy designed to create posts and debate. There is no other reason for this sort of behaviour.

One thing I have read many places about 'the closet' is that once out, no one in their right mind wants to go back into it.

Much the same way someone who starts working a 12 step recovery from alcoholism or other addictive behaviors are more miserable upon relapse than they were before learning about the mechanisms and truths about their afflictions.

It is the sort of thing that spawned the mythological tale about Pandora's box.

Once one finds enlightenment on aspects of themselves, you can't turn the ignorance is bless switch back on.

As a ferret owner I find this picture hilarious and endearing both. I have the enlightenment of the shear terror of realizing a ferret not in the ferret run getting out of the house and having to put 'lost pet' leaflets up everywhere and searching the neighborhood in shear terrible fear of what is happening to a beloved pet. Or what they can do to your apartment; for example having to buy new power supplies for a laptop who's wires were chewed up by a curious 'carper shark.'

We all have our own personal Pandora's boxes, and it seems Yukon has opened his biggest one.

Especially true in a low to no hit forum like this one.

Note how this guy does the self-centered reference to himself in the third person singular. And works to defend an activity that was highly indicative of Yukon's dysfunctional nature.

Baiting is 'his precious' when he is on line and in forum. He knows that if he broadcasts abuse he will get a satisfying response sooner or later. And it is much easier an activity to do than contemplating an issue deeply enough to develop the sort of insight that makes the best posts in a forum.
