Title: Ron Paul Mocks GOP Congress For Defunding NPR Instead Of Military

Ron Paul took to the House floor yesterday advocate again for the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan, one of two votes that took place there yesterday.

As, always, one of Paul's main arguments for the military leaving Afghanistan is cost. Yesterday he mocked so-called fiscal conservatives for moving so enthusiastically to defund NPR, a move which might save the government $10 million dollars when we have spent upwards of a trillion in Afghanistan in the last decade.

There's a serious question of whether [defunding NPR] will even cut one penny, but at least the fiscal conservatives are going to be overwhelmingly in support of slashing NPR, go home and brag about how they're such great fiscal conservatives! And the very most they might save is $10 million. And that's their claim to fame for slashing the budget. At the same time they won't consider for minute cutting a real significant amount of money.

It doesn't matter. It makes the Teabaggers happy, and that's all that matters. Actually doing something significant to reduce spending would piss the baggers off completely.

I hope the tea baggers have a whole bunch of draft age kids motivated to enlist and die because they are about to really get their wish. Fox is reporting we are getting ready to bomb Libya and bring Moahmar to justice for all the crap he has pulled in the past. Maybe Bush will be a witness for the defense.

Bring the troops home and put them on the US borders. Cancel the Libyan invasion.

If congress wants a war, they should declare one against Mexico, which is invading us. I get the impression that we've already surrendered though.

The baggers like war, so long as they don't have to pay for it. We should go after Iran while were at it. Why settle for two simultaneous wars when you can have four?

We ain't about to go to war with any country that supplies 30% of our oil. Those millionaire Texas oilmen that Eisenhower warned us about will make sure of it, while giving us dire warnings of impending doom over the possibility of five dollar lettuce.

Libya sells most of theirs to Europe, so he's fair game.

Ron Paul is absolutely correct. The priorities for Congressional debate are silly at best. It is meaningless platitudes, is all; and, in the end these inane politicians are going to be viewed as nothing more than MORE BS in an never-ending swirling toilet bowl within Washington DC.
