A poster protest in Milford continues with some military veterans taking issues with a poster in the window of a local liquor store.

Some veterans organizations are calling for a boycott of TJs Package store if owner Thomas Jakubisyn does not remove the cartoon poster.

The cartoon depicts a soldier in camouflage and reads: "Out of Work? Undereducated? No Health Plan? Join the Army and see Iraq."

Jakubisyn, a Vietnam veteran, says he has no intention of taking the sign down.

Members of the local Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Vietnam Veterans of America and Military Moms have joined forces and formed "Veterans and Families for the Troops."

One of the protesters says the cartoon feeds into an inaccurate stereotype that American soldiers are less educated and less employable.

Sounds like a funny pic. I thought those vets were fighting and would did to preserve our "freedoms". That's how the line goes anyway.

I'm sick of paying for a bunch of military free-loaders. The U.S. military should consist of about six thousand men.

Extremely naive thinking, co-op...if it wasn't for our military, I sincerely doubt America would still be free...MUD

Right off the bat, Switzerland comes to mind. But I like my county, and my state. Not my country.

"I like my county, and my state."

As do I...it's good that America still allows the freedom for states and counties to evolve into what is preferred by those who inhabit them. We're losing that, though...we need to quit ceding power to an ever-encroaching Federal Leviathan.

"Not my country."

Now here is where we disagree...she ain't perfect, not by a long shot, but we live in the greatest country in world history, imho.

In the first place, Slim, the USA is worst greatest country that the world has ever known. In the second place, I don't care about the USA. My allegiance is to my state, and as far as I'm concerned, we might seccede tommorow.

I happened to see this piece of mouth poop you deposited before reaching the confines of the sign in screen and my protective filter.

I just wanted to say that nothing appears to have changed.. You're still a brain dead idiot, mouthing unqualified, one line nonsense.

Slim, half of my family are from formerly communist nations.

You haven't got a problem with tyrrany as long you've got a full stomach, and a good job.

"...half of my family are from formerly communist nations."

Then they oughtta be amongst those who most treasure their freedoms, based on the support America is getting from some of the eastern bloc nations. That said, I am sure there are many ex-Commies who miss the old ways...hopefully yer family understands the gift they have been blessed with.

"You haven't got a problem with tyranny as long you've got a full stomach, and a good job."

Is that rhetorical or are you speaking about me? Personally, I am anti-tyranny wherever it exists, but there's not a whole lot we can do about most countries wherein it thrives. We can do something about the growing problem of tyranny here in the States, though. Freeing Iraq from the tyranny they were afflicted with is all well and good, but I want to see something done about the tyranny of a Federal Leviathan that siphons off $3 Trillion per year from the national economy to give us more problems than they fix.

They do. I don't. See, I was born in the USA, Slim. I don't compare the oppressive regimes to the U.S and say, "gosh, I have so much more freedom than they do." No, I don't give a damn how much more freedom I have than other peoples. I don't want more freedom than the other guy, I want as much freedom as I can handle.

I've traveled in several countries with so-called, "oppressive regimes" and I must say Slim, that they were considerably more free than the U.S. currently is. I will say in the defense of our country that we can afford to be good fascists, while some third-world hell hole has only a limited amount of funds to oppress its people with.

"Is that rhetorical or are you speaking about me?"

You and me both...however, my point is that we've got something on which to build. Dissent is still legal here...you don't see Sheehan or the other LeftWingWhackos getting imprisoned or killed for the nasty things they say about the POTUS, and when Slick Willie was in office, I attacked that bum mercilessly and no real harm came to me. With the power to dissent, all other evils can be overcome with time and persistent effort, if we can convince enuff folks of the worthiness of our cause.
