Miami-Dade County Mayor Mayor Carlos Alvarez raised property taxes. He used the money to give huge raises to government bureaucrats. Yesterday, he was booted from office in a landslide recall election. 200,000 people voted in the election, making this the largest recall election of a local government official in U.S. history. 88% of the people voted to toss him out. This should be another warning to the cowardly and clueless politicians in D.C. who are still refusing to deal with the government deficit, debt, and economy.

BS. A billionaire funded an effort and paid to get him ousted. If individuals organized as individuals and pooled their money as individuals then this recall would have some merit. But having one billionaire fund it all shows this was an astroturf effort not a real grassroot effort. .

Millionaire this, billionaire that, blah, blah, blah... You're a one song show and no one wants to hear it any more. The FACT is that more people turned out for this recall election than any local recall election in U.S. history and a whopping 88% of them voted to throw the dirty bastard out of office. They days of you bureaucrats leaching off of the productive sector of the economy is over.
I'd nix the title on this one, dude. The poster's just trying to pump up hits for his blog anyway.
