Today Rush Limbaugh suggested that God himself might be playing a joke on Japan by hitting them with an earthquake and tsunami. In the audio clip to the left Limbaugh finds it amusing that Japan was allegedly struck by "Mother Earth" even though the country adopts many environmentally friendly policies. Limbaugh continually plays a clip from a refugee shelter in Japan which happens to also be a recycling center, and notes the alleged irony saying, "Even now, refugees are still recycling, and yet Gaia levels them! Just wipes them out!...What kind of payback is this?" Limbaugh then notes that the tsunami hit in the exact place where electric and hybrid cars like the Prius are made,

Rush Limbaugh wants you to know the real story from Japan is nowhere near as bad as "the media" has made it out to be. Why would they exaggerate the magnitude of the story, you ask? Because, Rush said today on his radio program, "the media wants a disaster in Japan."
"These people are looking for disaster," Limbaugh said. "They want disaster upon disaster. They want the nuclear meltdown. They want the Japanese syndrome, if you will. They want this stuff."
