Has anyone seen the 2006 movie "Idiocracy"? I haven't seen it yet, but I understand it describes a world 500 years in the future.

This is a sound clip from the movie - see if it sounds like your typical liberal enclave . . .

Joe: "For the last time, I'm pretty sure what's killing the crops is this Brawndo stuff."

Secretary of State: "But Brawndo's got what plants crave. It's got electrolytes."

Attorney General (Sara Rue): "So wait a minute. What you're saying is that you want us to put water on the crops."

Joe: "Yes."

Attorney General: "Water. Like out the toilet?"

Joe: "Well, I mean, it doesn't have to be out of the toilet, but, yeah, that's the idea."

Secretary of State: "But Brawndo's got what plants crave."

Attorney General: "It's got electrolytes."

Joe: "Okay, look. The plants aren't growing, so I'm pretty sure that the Brawndo's not working. Now, I'm no botanist, but I do know that if you put water on plants, they grow."

Secretary of Energy (Brendan Hill): "Well, I've never seen no plants grow out of no toilet."

Secretary of State: "Hey, that's good. You sure you ain't the smartest guy in the world?"

Joe: "Okay, look. You wanna solve this problem. I wanna get my pardon. So why don't we just try it, okay, and not worry about what plants crave?" Attorney General: "Brawndo's got what plants crave." Secretary of Energy: "Yeah, it's got electrolytes."

Joe: "What are electrolytes? Do you even know?"

Secretary of State: "It's what they use to make Brawndo."

Joe: "Yeah, but why do they use them to make Brawndo?" Secretary of Defense: "'Cause Brawndo's got electrolytes."

My browser won't run it.

But the assertion made according to your transcripts is false as will be any analogy. Most plants do NOT crave electrolytes of which the primary are sodium and chlorine. You should have turned it off as soon as you heard that and saved yourself some time.

it's a great movie, it shows a future where folks like michelle bachmann are considered intelligent.

Since January 3, 2011, Republicans have controlled the power of the purse.

Ignore Amos actually provided an example of how the so called right wing in America thinks - they don't investigate or learn facts and make declarations based on assumptions / truthiness.

"Idiocracy" is anti capitalist, anti FOX news. anti corporation, anti NASCAR culture and one can easily see this when watching a very funny movie that FOX refused to promote because of this message.

The movie is about a future where people are of your level of intelligence (i.e. lack there of). The Brawndo scene simply is a display of their lack of an ability to think (a concept anybody familiar with you could easily relate to).

Now, I know I’m not going to change the minds of any of the True Believers…those who read all of Reverend Al’s sermons, and say things like, “You know, global warming can mean warmer OR colder, wetter OR drier, cloudier OR sunnier, windier OR calmer, …”. Can I get an ‘amen’??

At least I do think . . . And I can enjoy humor from the LEFT as well as humor from the RIGHT. As long as its creative. It must be a bitch to be wound as tightly as you are. Are your idols so fragile they can't take a little poking?

I know it's a foreign concept to you (multi-dimensional thinking). You ought to try it sometime.

First step - unplug your DNC hard-wired fax machine.

"Idiocracy" is anti capitalist, anti FOX news. anti corporation, anti NASCAR culture and one can easily see this when watching a very funny movie that FOX refused to promote because of this message.

I first heard this clip on the Mike Church show. I googled it and found out it was from Idiocracy. It sounded interesting, and like I said I do plan to rent it at some point.

Mike Church (the Mike Church show, heard on satellite) would probably be classified as a paleo-conservative (closest one on any media to my philosophy)

You wouldn't be interested, though. Since he can't be pigeonholed into your little R vs. D. world - he's a non-entity.

Right?

You missed my point about "boogey-men"

You on the Left seem to need to have those. First it was Reagan. (Actually, it was probably Nixon before that. He committed "original sin" by going after Alger Hiss - and no matter what he did after that - creation of EPA, wage and price controls, making nice with China - you wouldn't forgive him)

Then it was J. Danforth Quayle. Then Newt. Then Bush Jr. Then Palin. Then Bachman. Then Fox News.

Okay - so Fox news (in your opinion) is the worst thing to come down the pike. What do YOU like? MSNBC? Mother Jones?

C'mon - you can do it. Be FOR something. Tell us what you like.

(by the way, if Fox News is still around in 500 years, it must be doing something right. Even empires don't last that long.)

Did you not realize that before you posted the thread?

No. I had never heard of this movie.

In post #12 I explained how I came to learn of it.

Have you ever watched the "Tonight" show where Jay Leno does his "Jay Walking" segments? The idiots that appear there (who typically consider themselves "educated" but don't even know when the US Civil War was fought. Hell, most are doing good to put it in the correct century) reminded me of the idiots in the sound clip. And news flash: Since the Tonight Show eminates from Los Angeles (not known for being over-run with conservatives), it's a safe bet that the majority of the "idiots" are libs.

But back to your question: Even if I had realized that ultimately Fox News was the "target" - why would it have mattered? If humor and satire is clever, can it not be appreciated even if it might not line up totally with one's worldview?

I don't know if the movie itself is clever, but the clip I heard was. I'll reserve judgement on the entire movie until I see it.

One more thing to buttress my point: Not long after I got satellite TV, I was scanning the guide and saw a movie that intrigued me. (It's been a while, so I may have the name wrong - I think it was called something like "CSA - Confederate States of America."

I read the synopsis, and it was a movie that speculated what would have happened if the South had won the Civil War. That looked intriging, so I set up my DVR to record it.

The movie was done as a "Ken Burns" like TV documentary, taking the viewer from 1865 (when the South won the war) to the present. The first half or so WAS very imaginative and (there's that word again) clever.

But the second half became preachy and PC. I was disappointed - what was a great idea had become bogged down. Then, when the credits ran, I saw why.

It was produced by Spike Lee - a racist to the core. Oh well.

But my point is - I could STILL see humor and imagination even from someone whom I mostly (hell, probably 99.9 percent) disagree with.

Isn't that being "liberal" (old meaning)?

Who's boring, bucky?

You get a -10 however. Poor observation; poor consideration; bad review; silly post and more than that you are PURE BORING.

Is there a way to somehow use a formula for the Internet to ensure I can't YAWN anymore than you have alredy created? Please ensure I have that method because, you suck not just because of lack for and about intelligence but because of overall humour and fine spirit.

#26. To: Ignore Amos (#25) Get off the Internet. You can't handle it. You are boring and have no personality; you lack originality, conviction of personal comment or experience worthy of anyone looking at your posts.

Stay watching FOXNEWS and EIB as a listener. They are your friends and need your hardearned bucks to make them richer beyond belief.

SHOO!

#28. To: Ignore Amos (#27) I don't have time to read your fuckedupped posts day-in and day-out because you have nothing else to do in life. In fact, these are the first posts I have made towards you; you are boring; you are akin to a snail crawling the wet grass after a rain awaiting my shoe to crunch your hollow back and slime you into the ground where you belong.

Now, Shoo! Come back when you are creative with posting style, ya hear slugger?

#32. To: Ignore Amos (#29) You don't have a nickel much less a penny. Now Shoo! You don't know anything; you don't contribute anything; you lack originality; you have no personal opinions; you can't think for yourself other than realizing the world is over your own fucking head.

Go contribute your posts to some-far-away-make-believe-place that you call home. Now, SHOO!

it must be a case where the sum of the parts is equal to less than the whole Your point of "non-synergistic" is a perfect banner for you. Since LibertyFlame is attempting to kill the cretins while stimulating the talents of creative posters, exactly, where do you fall in? Below the cretin level?

Well, I have never enjoyed your posts. The lack of creativity proves it. Nothing original; no personal remark or post to substantiate or merit your own performance other than an awkward re-broadcast of EIB of some twit on FOXNEWSTV. Have you ever considered taking up alms for yourself? Alms for the poor of heart, the politically dis-enfranchised and incredibally stupid?

I shall keep an eye out for you from here on end. A penny for your personal thoughts?

blah, blah blah ... you said nothing creative; all you performed was the "magic" of using your computer to re-capture my posts; you have no summation; no original thought; no concept of or about what I have suggested; all you have done is silly but waste the bandwith of the Internet much less any readers coming to LibertysFlame.

You fucked yourself upped. As I told you up the thread, I was going to step on your frail and hollow hardshell back. I have proven the point with this retort, cretin.

One half-wit plus one half-wit equals a dimwit.

You've captured the essence of the AG perfectly. It finally makes sense as to why you posted this thead.

No more musick; now, SHOO.

We are taking Libertysflame to a higher level of debate than your memory of musick. All of us are doing it; no more LibertyPost shenanigans; no more FreeRepublick wannabes; no more mama cass on Freedom4um; no more pirates on Freedomunderground; no more Bob_J on a failing TBL channel that was started.

The buck stops right here. But you don't have a goddamned original thought in your pea brain, do you? So SHOO! Leave me alone.
