Not government bureaucrat unions, which use forced dues to elect their own bosses who reward the unions with more and more largess from the taxpayers.

Collective bargaining requires opposing sides. It doesn't work when the employer works for the employee.

Schools, fire protection, garbage collection, etc. can easily be provided in a competitive market. There is no reason whatsoever for government to monopolize these services. NONE.

We had private fire fighting in the past. Failed. See Fire Zouves of New York. See why it was made a public service rather than a private concern.

If you knew your history you would know fire fighters of the 1800s would arrive and fight other fire fighting teams in the street while the fire burned to see who would get the job. Firefighters would demand payment from the owner while the house burned. Other times fire fighters were suspected of setting fires to drum up business (arrived too quick to not have known about it in advance).

There is a reason we have the systems we have today - it seems you and your kind did forget the past and we are doomed to repeat it when you get into office.

LOL. ROTFLMAO. ha ha ha ha ha... I'm laughing so hard that I can't breath...

Today we have mortgages. Mortgage companies require you to have insurance to get a mortgage. Insurance companies would require you to have fire protection to get insurance or they would include fire protection in their policies. That's the way it would work.

I'm still laughing so hard that I still can't breath... Oh my god... I need to get some water.

I would also like to offer a suggestion to this private / public debate.

I was a firefighter for @10 years and decided to join an industrial F.D. (Major car manufacturer) The money wasn't bad and they talked a great talk about all they did. After getting the job, I found that it was NOTHING like a public FD. The ultimate decision makers were in the Headquarters in Detroit. The powers to be didn't travel very often, so when we asked for anything, it was hard to get. But they would send equipment to us with out asking us. There was a point where we had 3 mechanical hose washers, We BARELY used one! There was a ton of inspections and fighting a fire was an exercise in chaos! The bottom line to everything was the almighty dollar. It was nothing to find a fall victim that had been carried out of the way of the production line so they could continue production. I know this is not inidcative of all industrial jobs, but if you do decide to industrial, make sure you do a lot of research!

What an actual firefighter said about the 2 options.
