Does anybody on here like to cook?

If so are you open to trying new recipes or sharing yours???

I like hot and/or spicy food so I have quite a few like that, but still have others for the average pallet. Also like foreign food since I spent 3 years in Europe and North Africa.

I have quite a few and would be open to posting them on here if you want. Most I have tried and would endorse, some I haven't but the ingredients look good.

Here is one I like for bourbon chicken. I found it on the net. The difference that I make in this one is that I use chicken thighs instead of breasts. Then I add more soy sauce then called for. And about 3 or 4 times as much garlic and ginger then the recipe calls for. I also add some real bourbon to it. Just pour the bottle for about 3 to 5 seconds, or whatever suits you.

* 2 lbs boneless chicken breasts, cut into bite-size pieces * 1 -2 tablespoon olive oil * 1 garlic clove, crushed * 1/4 teaspoon ginger * 3/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes * 1/4 cup apple juice * 1/3 cup light brown sugar * 2 tablespoons ketchup * 1 tablespoon cider vinegar * 1/2 cup water * 1/3 cup soy sauce

Directions:

Prep Time: 15 mins

Total Time: 35 mins

1. 1 Heat oil in a large skillet. 2. 2 Add chicken pieces and cook until lightly browned. 3. 3 Remove chicken. 4. 4 Add remaining ingredients, heating over medium Heat until well mixed and dissolved. 5. 5 Add chicken and bring to a hard boil. 6. 6 Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes. 7. 7 Serve over hot rice and ENJOY.

How about beef, specifically skirt steak.... Fajitas

STEVE’S BEEF FAJITAS

Ingredients

• 2 pounds flank or skirt steak, fat trimmed • 1-1/2 cup pickled jalapenos (or serranos) their juice and w/onions and carrots.

Directions In a food processor chop pickled peppers and vegetables, pour into a large Ziploc bag, add the steak and refrigerate for at least 24 and up to 48 hours, turning occasionally. Remove the meat from the bag and season on both sides with salt and pepper. Cook the steak on the grill 5 minutes or so per side for medium rare. Thinly slice the steak against the grain.

Other ingredients • 1 Pkg large flour tortillas • Sour cream • Salsa • Cheddar cheese, shredded, for topping • 1 red bell pepper, stemmed, seeded, and thinly sliced • 1 green bell pepper, stemmed, seeded, and thinly sliced • 1 yellow bell pepper, stemmed, seeded, and thinly sliced • 1 orange bell pepper, stemmed, seeded and thinly sliced • 1 large white onion, thinly sliced • 1 tablespoon minced garlic • ½ Tsp Salt • ½ Tsp Pepper

Directions While steak is cooking on the grill.... in a large skillet, heat 2 Tbsp vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the peppers and onions, and cook, stirring, until soft and slightly caramelized, 12 to 15 minutes. Add the garlic, salt and pepper and cook, stirring, until the garlic is fragrant and soft, 1 to 2 minutes. Remove from the heat. Place sliced meat on tortillas and top with the vegetables, sour cream, salsa and/or cheese. Microwave for 1 minute and serve with ice cold Cerveza.

Farmer's breakfast (serves 4 to 6):

Boil 4 large potatoes.

When the potatoes are about done, cut them into thin slices, and transfer them to a frying pan lined with olive oil and start frying.

In another pan, start frying some ham.

Put 6 eggs in bowl with a little milk. Beat the eggs for a couple of minutes.

Chop up an onion and some chives.

When the potatoes are almost fried, transfer the ham to the potato pan, add the onions and chives, and finally poor the eggs over the potatoes.

Quickly mix everything together and take it off the heat (eggs will continue to cook one minute after you take them off the heat).

After a minute, serve. mmm...
