1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.

2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.

3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:

4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.

8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.

9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.

10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.

12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. Note

13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.

15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.

16 Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents.

17 And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two.

18 But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money.

19 After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them.

20 And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.

21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

22 He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.

23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:

25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.

26 His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:

27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.

28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.

29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.

30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:

33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:

43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.

44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

I am reminded of the verse that states, "Many are called, but few are chosen."

Not all will be saved, but many will have oil, i.e. salvation, and become profitable,i.e. saved, servants.

Jesus is a socialist.

The whole concepts of salvation and grace are socialist. No earning, no being productive, just a free pass that anyone can pick up.

Quit leaving out stuff to try and slant stuff.

From Matthew chapter 17.

He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers? 26

Peter saith unto him, Of strangers. Jesus saith unto him, Then are the children free. 27

Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee.

Because Joseph and Mary were persecuted into paying doesn't make it right.

If that is how you want to be remembered to our Lord and Savior, then I can only pray for you. I have no idea how to function in such angry desperation for his attention.

If you accept him, and seek him he will give you all of the attention you could want. He already loves you- he just may not like how you act.

Turn to him and call him Father and he will answer.

lol- little do you know. Again, God has blessed me in ways that would blow your mind.

I am highly favored- and I pray for more favor, and I receive more and more favor. There is no end in sight. Today again- this morning-another miracle.. another chance to be in God's presence, another opportunity to use my spiritual gifts and treasures to please God. When I get a chance to please God, I take it.

Everyday is like that for me, so this is a lifestyle, and I share the good news when I can. Your opinion and mockery is nothing.

This is all by God's grace- and is not because I am special. God's grace is not a gift meant only for me- it is because I have perfected walking in the spirit, as much as a human can, that I can get to this level of favor. Anyone can do this.

I obey very well and I work endlessly at using and building my spiritual gift, because my life is a tool for God's kingdom.

Again- salvation is for anyone who wants it.

That's right, and then he lifts us out of darkness and gives us an abundant life. Happens all over the world, every day.

But a person has to declare that they accept his salvation, first- and then walk in the spirit. A person will have to confess their sin, and turn from that sin and he will save them- and they will be downtrodden less and less- until they are downtrodden no more.

He came to give us abundant life- NOT to keep us downtrodden.

How did John the Baptist do all of that Baptising and get his head separated from his body by hiding out in a cave and letting the rest of the world go to pot? Are we talking about the same guy?

I will let the RCC answer for their monks. It is interesting though that it was the Monasteries that keep alive whatever light remained in the world during the Dark Ages of Europe. They kept learning and books alive until someone turned on the lights again.

Have you not read the Scriptures at all?

I have. Whatever happened to that Son of Man that Jesus was sure was about to come set up God's kingdom on earth?

Poor old Jesus got that one completely wrong. It took his followers to rewrite the story to make him the Son of Man.

"The Coming of the Son of Man

24“But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, 25and the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken. 26And then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. 27And then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven. The Lesson of the Fig Tree

28“From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near. 29So also, when you see these things taking place, you know that he is near, at the very gates. 30Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place. 31Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away."

Main article: Sociological classifications of religious movements

According to one common typology among sociologists, religious groups are classified as ecclesias, denominations, sects, or cults (now more commonly referred to in scholarship as New Religious Movements). Note that sociologists give these words precise definitions which differ from how they are commonly used. In particular, sociologists use the words 'cult' and 'sect' without negative connotations, even though the popular use of these words is often pejorative.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sociology_of_religion

Hey Stone, according to the field of sociology, religions start out as cults until they develop to the size ands scope they rate being called a religion.

This is no negative slam on any faith, this is just how that field talks about religions in the formative stage of a new religion.

Stop censoring shit that is just opinions. Save it for real abuse, like some of the shit you post.

If you had read the Scripture, you would not have made your last comment. You would have known you were wrong before you commented.

As for this post, you might want to start with the Book of Revelation for the answer. Here is a hint. Christ wasn't talking about the generation of two thousand years ago. He was talking about the generation in which the final signs of the Last days appear.

Romans

1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

1:19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

1:23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves:

1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

361 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

1:29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

1:30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

1:31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Tell me, do you have any understanding at all of how the New Testament came to be constructed? You must know that the four gospels were all written decades after the death of Jesus, by people who weren't eye witnesses to anything that transpired during his life, and that as time went on the stories about him kept changing.

You do know that, right? It's right there in front of your eyes if you care to look. You don't have to take my word for it.

tax collectors went to Peter and asked him if Jesus paid the tax and Peter said yes. PAST TENSE - Jesus already paid.

That is an assumption. You assume Peter was telling the truth and always did the right thing. Jesus rebuked him.

Matthew, Mark, and John knew Jesus personally. They were His disciples. Luke was well aware of the events of Jesus'life from the people who knew Him, again His disciples. The other Books were written by Jesus' disciples which even included the half brothers of Jesus. Why are you continuing to blow smoke when you are so easily refuted?

You are the one assuming Peter lied and was rebuked by Jesus.

Paul couldn't make it any clearer in Romans 13:5-7:

"Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience. This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God's servants, who give their full time to governing. Give everyone what you owe him: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor."
