Title: God Hating Piece of Shit Barry Hollandsworth Tears Ten Commandments Off Students Lockers (Fire the Bigot)

School officials in a Virginia district have decided that students are not allowed to post copies of the Ten Commandments on their lockers, even though they are allowed to have other types of messages, including "expressions of school spirit, support of activities, birthday well wishes, social causes, and so on."

The result was that last week when members of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes posted copies of the Ten Commandments on their lockers, the principal and an assistant pulled them down immediately.

That, according to officials with Liberty Counsel, reveals a policy that would have to fail because "it would preclude student expression that is religious because it is religious." Liberty Counsel dispatched a letter suggesting – strongly – that the policy and practice be changed.

"While the school district may have certain constraints about how it could display the Ten Commandments as government speech, those do not apply to forums that the school has opened to private speech of students," said the letter, signed by Mary McAlister on behalf of Liberty Counsel, to the district. It was sent to officials in the Floyd County, Va., public school district, who could not be reached today by WND with requests for a comment.

The Liberty Counsel letter set a deadline of March 15 for the school to respond.

Liberty Counsel wrote to the school on behalf of Ralph and Tambra Agee, whose son, Jacob, is a student at Floyd County High School.

The situation developed when the FCA athletes put up the Ten Commandments on their lockers, as other students posted other messages on theirs.

But Principal Barry Hollandsworth and an assistant, Tony Deibler, took them down.

"Jacob then met with Principal Hollandsworth who explained that he could not permit students to use the face of their lockers for religious expression because if he did, students of all religions could use their lockers for religious expressions of their respective religions," the letter said.

"Today, school officials have also suggested that prior approval is necessary for student expressions on their assigned lockers."

The legal team said, "If there was a prior approval policy, it could very well be an unconstitutional prior restraint on speech because it requires advance approval. It would certainly be unconstitutional if it subjected religion expression to a less favorable standard than non-religious speech … The actual policy articulated by Principal Hollandsworth would fail to satisfy constitutional requirements because it would preclude student expression that is religious because it is religious."

Mathew Staver, founder of Liberty Counsel, told WND that even the left-leaning ACLU agreed with the Liberty Counsel position, dispatching a similar letter to school officials after LC sent its request.

Ten Commandments targeted for banishment

Principal orders God's laws yanked from student lockers

The original title is better. I find the way you did the title childish and disrespectful to the people who own that intellectual property.

Which is really dumb too as looking at the source and clarification line they added under the title, they agree with your opinion anyway.

Grow up.

Except I stoically stated my opinion with no railing, ranting or invective directed your way.

As I said, grow up. You are not succeeding in baiting me, as I am not changed emotionally by this abuse you send my way.

I mean, I already knew you are an asshole who loves this sort of game, so why would I ever be surprised or angry when a jeopard shows it's spots?

"The title is accurate."

Calling say something is the color brown when it's green doesn't make it brown.

Despite your words it's color is what it is. Your motive is not to clarify, it's to bait and add content not there or established.

He just doesn't like the thou shalt not.

Do you find fault with the 10 commandments? They are perfect.

"Do you find fault with the 10 commandments?"

It's not within the purview of my religious belief system. So answer your own baitful interrogatory.

Do you have a problem with thou shalt not kill?

Thou shalt not bear false witness?

Thou shalt not steal?

Sounds pretty good to me. It is the basis of western civilization. Who can be against good wholesome things like the 10 commandments?

Why do liberals hate free speech?

Ooooppps Mike.

Problem with you and "you people" is you lack the intellectual agility to really process a response before finding the need to spew idiotic rejoinders such as the above snotty snarky "not in my religious purview" crap.

People would take you for a bit more than a poor man's version of dwarf if you'd think before you blurt.

Stone is baiting Jaggie. I am not interested in talking nuts and bolts theology in a thread that is about the implementation of an interpretation of an education district's policy on religious display.

Adding your bait to the mix changes nothing.

Why are you baiting? If you don't like how I respond to your crap, you have the moderator's screen; then ban me. You have no where to leverage me with content, so you nit pick form.

I have no intention of banning you Mike. State your opinion. It is your opinion. Say whatever you want.

My intent is that when that man or his friends googles his name hopefully this pops up. You aren't barry are you?
