The Rev. Grant Storms, who made headlines in 2003 when he attempted to shut down the annual Southern Decadence festival in the French Quarter, was arrested in Jefferson Parish on obscenity charges Feb. 25. Storms, who famously denounced the largely gay Labor Day celebration as "perversion," was arrested for allegedly masturbating near a Lafreniere Park playspot where children were present. According to an arrest report, Storms told the attending officer he wasn't masturbating, but had simply opted to urinate in a bottle in his van rather than find a park restroom. In 2003, Storms and his followers marched on the Southern Decadence festival with bullhorns, and told ABC News' Primetime Live he wanted Southern Decadence shut down "utterly and totally. We want them out of town." At the time, he told The Times-Picayune, "Having oral sex in the middle of the street or masturbating is illegal and immoral," and worried that NOPD officers patrolling the festival might work "some kind of back-room deal to have an orgy in the street." The following year, a group of French Quarter business owners led by the Bourbon Street Alliance successfully obtained a restraining order against Storms and his protestors, and the City Council voted to bar the use of bullhorns during Decadence. Storms disappeared from the public eye shortly thereafter, but a lawsuit he had filed against a Wisconsin group backfired on the pastor in 2006 when a judge found his suit lacked merit and ordered him to pay $87,000 to the group he was suing. Storms was released from the Gretna jail Feb. 27 due to overcrowding. According to Louisiana law, "whoever commits the crime of obscenity shall be fined not less than one thousand dollars nor more than two thousand five hundred dollars, or imprisoned, with or without hard labor, for not less than six months nor more than three years, or both."

It really does. I mean, look at the Eddie Long scandal in Atlanta. A premier anti-gay Baptist church leader giving overseas trips, expensive gifts and other things to young men he manipulated into bed with him is much the same sort of hypocrisy as we see with this guy. And Rep. Chris Lee, who resigned after sending a woman he found on Craig's List phone photos of him with no sort trying to drum up a relationship with her was also looking for transgender people to have sex with too. (in link on his name) Which is why he probably was so quick to resign. He was dodging this particular bullet which would of made his reputation far more damaged than it is now.
Not to mention the official White House Spiritual Adviser for Boy Jorge,the Reverend Ted Haggard,who was arrested for spending church money on male prostitutes and meth.

Sheriff spokesman Sgt. Larry Dyess told WWL First News that Storms originally told responding officers that he was tired from cutting grass and was urinating into a bottle inside of his van. However, Dyess says that in further interviews with detectives, Storms admitted to masturbating inside the van. I did not change the title. In parenthesis I put clarifying comments. I left the title alone. I have done this since I started posting. For example; say I post a Register Guard (Eugene, OR paper) article with the title, "Bummer of a Tattoo," which was a real article I once posted's title. Because this was on a local program to pay for tattoo removal to help people get jobs, I put (White Bird Clinic in Eugene, OR helps with tattoo removal) after the title. I do not change titles, but I do add clarification in parenthesis to denote these are my words. I will also do: Title: [Eugene, OR] Man to protest City Council's move. (example, of course). I'm sure you can see how a local article works with the short title, but when posting on a nationally accessed forum, further clarification helps.
You will note too I was vary careful to clarify with established facts. I did not tweak up or spice up the title to advance any editorializing on the story I might have. If I did that, I would of put (Yet another Christian pervert) or something equally childish. I am not into editorializing where my opinion is going to be in the face of others who cannot access the title posting blank in the posting form.
You will note too that as the title of this article: "Life expectancy in Canada reaches 80.7 years" is clear, and needs no focus, I left it alone. I could of tweaked it with a comment on how with our non-social medicine system our life expectancy is lower and dropping. But I didn't, as if I want to add that, I'll post that comment in thread.

Just for the record, my comment was originally, (caught masturbating in front of kids in park.) But I went to three or four news source to double check. And I saw he was turned in by women seeing him masturbate in a van parked near where kids were playing, so I modified it to reflect the exact verbiage in the news on this story. I didn't want to wind up making my clarification be misleading by making it sound like he was on a bench in full view of the children. I also saw where he had confessed to masturbating to detectives, otherwise I would not of even put that activity's label in there. I am very very careful when adding a comment, and I always put it in brackets or parenthesis.
