The first song was one of my favorite songs in 1969,and the second one is by one of my favorite groups in the early 70's. NOBODY was better live than Uriah Heep. Nobody.
I'm stranded in space, I'm lost without trace I haven't this chance of getting away Too close to the sun and surely will burn Like Icarus before me or so legend goes I'm taking my life, reliving the past There's nothing but wait til' my time comes I've had a good life, I'd do it again Maybe I'll come back some time, my friends
For I have lived my life to the full I have no regrets anekatips But I wish I could talk to my family to tell them One last goodbye
The final frontier The final frontier The final frontier The final frontier
If I could survive to live one more time I wouldn't be changing a thing at all Do more in my life than some do in ten I'd go back and do it all over again
For I have lived my life to the full I have no regrets But I wish I could talk to my family and tell them that one last goodbye
The final frontier (x4)
guitar solo
There isn't much time, must say my last rites Nobody is here to read them to me Must say my goodbyes, if only a line A message to tell them in case they might find
But I have filled my life to the full I have no regrets But I wish I could talk to my family to tell them That one last goodbye
I'm more into hard rock. AC/DC is my favorite. I like 80's hard rock mostly. Van Halen, Ozzy, Motley Crue, Zeppelin, Beatles, Stones, Nirvana, Poison, Cindarella, Judas Priest, Johnny Cash, Eminem, Quiet Riot. Those are a few off the top of my head.
I saw Black Sabbath. But I don' know who there singer was at the time. I've also seen Ozzy a few times and Dio once. I love war pigs. Never been to an Ozfest though.
On a side note I saw that Rob Zombie (His music is great too) was pissed at Ozzy because he said he stole his drummer and guitar player. I bet Rob wont be playing Ozfest anymore.
I saw Van Halen back in 1984. Very back row at Cincinnati Gardens.
You know they are working on a new album now. They ditched Michael Anthony and replaced him with Wofgang Van Halen. I think that is rude ant they should bring Michale Anthony back. The Van Halen brothers got that Michael toured with solo Sammy Hagar one year and dumped him.
I never cared for David Leach Sloth myself, and I find their music too commercial and bland. But then again, some music is just not meant for some people, and while I can engage to some metal, generally it just gives me a headache.
Interesting music, but this Gordon Lightfoot reflects the lyrics and style that fires my rocket. I am a guy who can sit in a field in the woods focusing on the nuances of different birds, plants insects and can just spend hours quietly absorbing the nuances of everything around me.
But when I am say in downtown Portland, the sound of cars on all the freeways around me is oppressive and shuts me down. I feel compelled to get away from that constant motor sound.
I will always be more a Lightfoot, Joni Mitchell, Tori Amos, or even Crystal Bowersox sort of guy. And I can only listen to music occasionally. I am usually reading or writing at home, and love the enchanting experience of silence too much to make music a background noise thing.
Here is Crystal doing 'Gray haired rock star' in Toledo, OH. I particularly love the quality of her voice. Sometimes an artist's personal singing qualities just hit you where you live.
Although I must admit, I find her fascinating just to watch too in videos where she is interviewed or being her playful self. So there must be some normal infatuation with a smart woman with a deep and engaging personality involved with how she lights me up with a special feeling of warmth.
I really like her. Tony, the guy who dumped her at the end of Idol is a dumb ass. She makes me wish I was 25 again.
