QUESTION OF THE DAY
How often does the president of the AFL-CIO speak to somebody in the White House?
Would you believe it if I told you: Every day. We're talking Richard Trumka here ... the quintessential union goon. He says that he actually visits the White House two or three times a week, and has a conversation with someone in the White House or in the administration every day. Are you getting any idea where the power is in Washington? Who has the president's ear? How many times a week do you think taxpayer advocates visit the White House? How many conversations a week do they have with administration officials? What about the U.S. Chamber of Commerce or the Federation of Independent Businesses? How many visits? How many conversations? But wait a minute! What about Obama's own cabinet members? As Michelle Malkin reminds us, some of Obama's cabinet members didn't receive one single phone call from Obama during his first two years in office. Different story for union leaders though, isn't it? Remember Andy Stern? He was (or is) the president of Obama's purple-shirted goons, the Service Employees International Union. Stern was the most frequent visitor to Obama's White House in the first year of Obama's reign.
Then we have Wisconsin. What was the president's role as soon as the Wisconsin union government workers started their protest? Suddenly it was Obama The Enabler! The call goes out for Obama's campaign volunteer group, Organizing for America, to mobilize. Lease the busses. Get the crowds together. Head to Madison and support your union brothers. The Democrat National Committee joined right in with whatever support could be mustered. Make no mistake .. not only was Obama supportive of the union demonstrators in Wisconsin - he was actively engaged in promoting the confrontation.
Democrats were elected by union goons and you better believe that these union goons will not let them forget it. With all of the hoopla currently happening in Wisconsin, it's only a matter of time before it becomes a true national issue. When that's the case, which side do you think our Community Organizer is going to take?
