Socialism (and Communism) is the government taking from one person and giving it to another. Alaska is merely taking revenues derived from people owned resources and distributing it back to the people with the government having no say in who gets what; it's distributed equally without regard to so called "need."
The oil is not State owned. It is people owned. They are simply giving the residents back the money that the oil companies paid to drill on their lands. Being a resident means they own a piece of that land so if money is made off of it they should have a right to it.
