Title: Ex-aide's book paints harsh portrait of Sarah Palin

new memoir from an embittered former aide to Sarah Palin includes a trove of emails that vividly illustrate her intense focus on image and depiction in the media.

The emails, apparently from the former Alaska governor, portray Palin as nearly obsessed with her political adversaries and consumed with every slight, real or perceived. (See: POLITICO's 2012 Live)

The still-unpublished manuscript, obtained by POLITICO, reveals Palin, as a candidate for governor, penning letters-to-the-editor in praise of herself, to be sent under other names. It blames the candidate for inflaming, rather than ignoring, scurrilous rumors. And it quotes her pledging to avoid appearing on any network other than Fox News, referring to the rest as “the bad guys.”

LOL!! You keep childishly repeating the same stupid lie when you know damned well that no company had a gun to their head when they purchased leases in Alaska

I don't have subsurface mineral rights to my land either. I think I'll demand that the Feds give me a yearly stipend. How about you giving up yours for a year and giving it to me.Or just a part of it. That way you can yell commie and actually be accurate.

by contract the people of Alaska are compensated for not being able to retain subsurface mineral rights on their land

By what logic does a guy working at walmart in Anchorage deserve a check for $3,200 for oil company activities on the north slope?

Since January 3, 2011, Republicans have controlled the power of the purse.

How often does that happen? Why hasn't every body moved to Alaska? Geez, a family of 5 could haul in $16,000/year plus welfare. I believe you are a blowhard.

LOL!! Not my fault you did not get a better contract.

What country are you from? The RR's and various mining, timber, ranching and farming corporations gobbled up much of the mineral rights in the US years ago. You do know that coal and energy companies own most of Pennsylvania subsurface rights and there is no way they are relinquishing them with the various sales of surface ownership rights without a separate and often much more expensive transaction.

Welcome to the 21st century where the surface of your land can be completely obliterated by another owner digging for whatever.

Dunno if you know beyondthesea, aka Otis The Drunk, over at LP, aka The Cuckoo's Nest, but a couple of years ago he tried to get away with claiming that he and his brothers were buying up natural gas leases all over Western PA. Being from that area myself and being an occasional dabbler in land speculation, I knew immediately that he was lying. There's probably not one square inch of the ENTIRE state of PA in which a parcel doesn't have defaulted mineral rights.

Maybe he got the Koch brothers to give him a big, big loan. They would be interested if they don't already own most of the rights.

I'm hoping they are buying up Alaskan leases and mineral rights as I post.
