Title: Ex-aide's book paints harsh portrait of Sarah Palin

new memoir from an embittered former aide to Sarah Palin includes a trove of emails that vividly illustrate her intense focus on image and depiction in the media.

The emails, apparently from the former Alaska governor, portray Palin as nearly obsessed with her political adversaries and consumed with every slight, real or perceived. (See: POLITICO's 2012 Live)

The still-unpublished manuscript, obtained by POLITICO, reveals Palin, as a candidate for governor, penning letters-to-the-editor in praise of herself, to be sent under other names. It blames the candidate for inflaming, rather than ignoring, scurrilous rumors. And it quotes her pledging to avoid appearing on any network other than Fox News, referring to the rest as “the bad guys.”

Everyone here knows Joe was slimed by you slugs who pi$$ed away enormous funds sent to this state to interfere with the political processes here.

LoL.

Being a Palin supporter means it's always someone else's fault.

Since January 3, 2011, Republicans have controlled the power of the purse.

You really need to stop calling your fellow socialist state citizens such nasty names. And you should show more appreciation to the taxpayers of the lower forty eight who actually subsidize your living standards.

I'm sure Eskimo sends the check he gets from oil company profits in Alaska back to the state government because accepting it would be tantamount to endorsing socialism. Right?

Since January 3, 2011, Republicans have controlled the power of the purse.

Give old eskimo a break. At 75, he's been living off the government for so long he doesn't even realize he's doing it any more.

Did you ever notice that none of these wannabe cheechakos ever mentions what state that they live in?

They probably live in a socialist hell hole and do not want to be laughed at.

Their childish innuendo concerning Alaska is likely just some bizarre extension of their irrational hatred for Palin.

I've noted several times that I live in Virginia, where our Tea Party governor just gave teachers a 2% bonus. Where I don't live, however, is in a state that taxes profits of privately held companies just to distribute to other state residents on the basis that "everyone owns the national resources"

You know, there's a word for that - I believe it's SOCIALISM!

Since January 3, 2011, Republicans have controlled the power of the purse.

You mean like you do?

Go back and read this thread and see who first invoked socialism.

Look, the reality is that the Alaska program to take profits from oil companies and distribute them to the residents of the state is about the clearest example of socialism in all these United States.

Since January 3, 2011, Republicans have controlled the power of the purse.

You can not justify your madness by saying everything is socialism. You clearly do not know anything about the reason for the Alaska Permanent Fund and I doubt you even care to learn.

You can not justify your madness by saying everything is socialism

In 2008 the fund collected $6 billion in taxes from oil companies operating in Alaska, part of that was used to pay every Alaska citizen $3,200 (including a $1,200 "bonus" implemented by then Gov. Palin).

The basis for the Alaska Permanent Fund is that the government argues that Alaska's resources are collectively owned by all citizens of the state, who are thus entitled to share in the profits generated by the use of those resources. Again, that's the clearest example of socialism in all these United States.

Do you seriously want to continue this line of argument?

The "nanny needers" are so disgustingly greedy they openly call for the armed robery of others to satiate that greed.

You can rant and rave all you want, but taking money from oil companies and giving it to those who had nothing to do with oil production because you claim that Alaska's oil is a "shared resource" is the very definition of socialism.

You can't bring yourself to admit that you support socialism since YOU directly benefit from it, can you?

LOL!! You keep childishly repeating the same stupid lie when you know damned well that no company had a gun to their head when they purchased leases in Alaska and by contract the people of Alaska are compensated for not being able to retain subsurface mineral rights on their land.

Hell, if socialist slugs are insane enough to build a political construct whose very foundation is the extortion of individual wealth by armed thugs for redistribution, I can understand why they, in their delusional state of mind, would want to redefine "socialism" in a desperate attempt to mitigate some of their shame.

LOL!! Not my fault you did not get a better contract.

What country are you from? The RR's and various mining, timber, ranching and farming corporations gobbled up much of the mineral rights in the US years ago. You do know that coal and energy companies own most of Pennsylvania subsurface rights and there is no way they are relinquishing them with the various sales of surface ownership rights without a separate and often much more expensive transaction.

Welcome to the 21st century where the surface of your land can be completely obliterated by another owner digging for whatever.

Dunno if you know beyondthesea, aka Otis The Drunk, over at LP, aka The Cuckoo's Nest, but a couple of years ago he tried to get away with claiming that he and his brothers were buying up natural gas leases all over Western PA. Being from that area myself and being an occasional dabbler in land speculation, I knew immediately that he was lying. There's probably not one square inch of the ENTIRE state of PA in which a parcel doesn't have defaulted mineral rights.
