Auto Hide IP allows you to hide your real IP to protect your privacy automatically on the Internet. Auto Hide IP enables you to surf anonymously and automatically change your IP address every few minutes. With it, you are able to conceal your identity online by showing them a fake IP, preventing identity theft and hacker intrusions, all with the click of a button. You can also select fake IP from different countries via Choose IP Country option and can Check IP directly.

Why in the world would anyone "hide" on the Internet? It is a fun place, "liberty for everyone" where the "Sun is always shining around the world!"

Some Internet users, such as US military members on duty, are fairly restricted as to which web sites they can visit. A friend was stationed in the Mideast for nearly two years and he used a website which cloaked his IP address - I'm not sure but I think it was called hidemyass or something like that.

Don't you know how to make an active link on your forum? Sometimes you come across as a real dullard.

Thanks for the link, I'll check it out.

You can not cloak your Internet IP; you can not cloak your MAC address either from the source machines within TCP/IP.

At the destination machine (such as your local server) all that is required is a sniffer on the IP addy assigned whether dynamic or static; POOF, you are nabbed. All you could ever do is use a proxy such as the thread article; it doesn't assign you a new IP; it routes you to another server beyond your destination that intercepts your earlier IP and reassigns it in a table for further masking.

All you can ever do is claok your IP from say the final destination so they can't know who or where you are.

I appreciate the clarification. I had a bit of technical savvy in the 90s, but in the past ten years I haven't tried to keep up with all the technical advancements.

My rules are simple; Like on the telephone, never attempt to do anything illegal on the Internet.

That is perhaps the best advice or opinion possible, Fred. Take it one step further ..... or harmful in anyway.

Still, it is OK to hammer posters.... nothing like kickin' ass on mammy.

Mammy ignores me all the time, but I like to throw a few jabs her way whenever I can.
