Why do Americans have Russia on the side of the anti-Christ? The USA is a more likely a candidate for the state ruled by the anti-Christ.

How long will you guys buy into this Hal Lindsey BS? Lindsey's earlier predictions all assumed that the Cold War would continue indefinitely, and had eschatological significance; he explicitly identified Russia with the apocalyptic figure of Gog.

Show me once piece of evidence that Gog / Magog is Russia. This was a Cold War fantasy concocted by the heretical Dispensationalists to prove that we were in the "last days".

The Soviet Union is dead and Russia has their owns problems with Muslims in their country and on their southern border.

Many people believe that 38 might well be in the not distant future.

All scholars before the crazies in America reinterpreted this through Cold War eyes indicate that this Biblical passage was about events of the era in which it was written.

OriginsThe etymology of Gog/Magog remains uncertain, although it seems likely that one is derived from the other. The ma- at the beginning of Magog may indicate a land or it may mean "from", so that Magog means "of the land of Gog" or "from Gog". "Gog" itself may be the Hebrew version of the name Gyges, a king of Lydia who reigned roughly a century before the time of the prophet Ezekiel and made his kingdom a great power in the region - in Akkadian, the language of Babylon, Gyges was known as "Gugu", and if Ezekiel's Gog is Gugu/Gyges then "Magog" would mean "Land of Gyges".[4]

Alternatively, Gog might derive from Magog. In this case "Magog" might refer to the magi of Cappadocia (modern Turkey) and Media (in modern geography, eastern Turkey and north-western Iran), or it might be a reference to Babylon itself (MGG, Magog in Hebrew, can be turned into BBL, Babil, or Babylon).[5]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gog_and_Magog

Then we have this at the same webpage.

As RussiaAccording to one modern theory of dispensationalist Biblical hermeneutics, Gog and Magog represent Russia. Apocalyptic author Louis Bauman claimed that the word "Caucasian" came from the Arabic term "gog-i-hisn" for the mountains there which means "fortress of Gog".[40] However, this identification is unanimously rejected by even the most conservative of credentialed biblical scholars working in accredited institutions of higher learning.[41] It should be noted that the Scythians, who were identified by Josephus and others as being Magog, lived in what is now Russia and Ukraine. [citation needed]

The legend of Gog and Magog, as well as the land of Rosh, also plays a significant part in the New Chronology of Russian pseudohistorian Anatoly Fomenko.

The webpage has more and interesting information. Eze 38 also talks about other lands that will go against Israel and talks about what God Himself will do to those people. Many lands are in for some major troubles for attacking Israel.

In the last days, more specifically The Great Tribulation, Israel will stand alone, at least with no other nations supporting them. Jerusalem will be encircled and destroyed. The surviving Israelis will seek protection in the hills of Jordan which is a natural protection for them. That is the time when Christ will return in the Second Coming.

The people who aid the Israelis will be seen in a favorable light by God. What the US will be doing in this time is a question mark. I assume that this nation won't be able to help the Israelis or will be among those nations attacking them. In either case, I think the US is toast.

I hate to burst your bubble, but Jews were not the dominant society and religion in the middle east. It took marketing Jesus to the West that gave Judaism a modicum of legitimacy. It's also the only reason, but for the west, that "Israel" exists on a map today.

Narrow is the way that leads to life and wide is the way that leads to hell. Paraphrase there.

The Bible said the Jews would be dispersed throughout the nations. They were.

It also says in the last days they would return to the land. It happened.

You might say because of the UN or something it happened. That isn't the reason. The UN didn't with their war for them, now did they?

A great big country with more of his 'chosen' than Israel certainly would have been prophecied by name, instead of using some obtuse symbolism that can be interpreted in a thousand directions.

Personally I think that the chosen in the Bible really mean Christians, and that Revelation already occurred in the 1st century.

What is symbolic about every person on the planet being forced to receive a mark in order to buy or sell? That is pretty specific.

Stone- war is the most demon possessed soul I have ever encountered. Don't cast your pearls before swine.

There are people who are so deceptive and evil that even God will wash his of them- and say "enough, live in the darkness and know what it means to be truly alone".

War is such a person, in my mind.

I work prison ministry. I have even worked with a convicted murderer.. and I have not sensed someone who is so open to evil as I believe war is open to.

I don't say that lightly. I would get your feet pulled out of his mud and never look at him again, if I were you.

That post is so silly I can not even entertain it, other than to say that I feel badly about your misspent education.

I think you may go all the way with this one.

I see some good in war. He just has a different point of view. Sure he is wrong in our opinion on most issues.

Well, I have been stalked all over the internet by war- and he has hurled the most rabid anti-Christian things at me that I have ever heard of.. so be careful.

I see God's child - but he chose a very dark and disturbing path and he is allowed to post vilifying Christians and Christ.

Some people will really never be redeemed. Why anyone would continue to allow him to post his continued, and very nasty attacks is beyond my understanding. I think it is enabling a very sick person.

I think there is a special place in Hell for war. I don't say that lightly.

That pisses me off too. I am going to find a way not to allow that to happen anymore.

If they want to debate Gods word that is fine. But just outright blasphemy is going to have to stop. I'm still working on a strategy for that that is fair and consistent. I'm sure it will take a while to get it right.

Please do. I understand seeking and questions, and even doubt. Who doesn't have doubt at times in our lives? I even understand people who make a conscious choice to not follow- ok fine- but the temper tantrums and to demand that you accept his denying of Christ, by way of attacking believers and in violent language, over and over and over- is wrong. It is unacceptable.

And determine all of this screen names and ISPs. I am sure that is impossible to do- but it is pretty obvious who his socks are- they always attack the same people over and over and over and on the same topics.

Just for the record, I count exactly 13 posts from war to dingbat since 2009.

Not exactly what I'd call stalking. Actually, dingbat is the one doing the stalking here.

I believe war when he says he only posts as war. That is my opinion. I did think he was another poster but that proved to be incorrect when I cross referenced and it was someone else.

Also it seems it is going to be hard to keep us on the topic of the threads. I have complained to some others. I'm working on it.

Don't let the mockers get you down. God's plans are being carried out according to His wishes, not the mockers.

Also, there is a goodly percentage of the population who are seriously mentally disturbed. You stand a good chance of finding them almost anywhere.

Thanks don-

That is true. Mental illness many times is a lifestyle choice. I have to wonder, why are they so disturbed? Why would they choose strife anger, hatred, bitterness, pettiness, chaos, loneliness, unfriendliness, resentment, pain and illness , the is list goes on?

No human could love someone like that and choose to want to spend time with such a person.

THERE but for the grace of God, goes I. What a yucky existence.

I could see how God's plan in this is to remind me of what a good choice I made to walk in the light.

:)

You too, right?

Yet the first thing the two 'good Christians' do here is bear false witness against their fellow man.

God can even fill this space - online- when he is asked to do so. :) Esp when two or more are gathered in his name.

I love how Jesus beat the Devil back with an ugly stick- and that is what I am thinking of today. Pretty powerful stuff and yes, there is evidence of his grace everywhere. He is so beautiful.

Have a great day, Don.

Oh and pray for me, I am meeting with town leaders about mentoring more ex-gang members, next week (that is my passion). God is so faithful, because he promised me he would make a way for me to do that work, and he is working in very interesting ways, opening doors for a person like me to enter that world.

I always love the weekends so much. So much more free time to hang out Jesus, and great worship and prayer and seeing so many people bursting with joy that they have been saved.
